Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Yeah, I wiped data and cache manually from recovery, then flashed the from, then the GApps zip.

Worked great, except my apps had to be reinstalled.

Use Titanium backup to keep your data. When you flash a new ROM, you can reinstall Titanium (TiBu) and then just batch restore apps and data. Keeps you from having to start over with angry birds.

51 yr old - I design buildings & do space layouts in AutoCAD & REVIT, In my spare time I'm a Personal Trainer, "teach" spin, bootcamp and TRX classes on the side. I live in SW FL, moved here from DC 7 years ago. Married to wonderful girl from NJ, we each have children, but they are grown and older than most of you guys LOL.

I love spin. Haven't found a good instructor in over a year though. :(

Bless you Steven! I thought I was going to have to lie about my age!

Married, 54 year old airline pilot with daughter 18 and son 15.

My first computer was a "portable" Columbia (IBM "clone") that weighted about 25 pounds had a 9" green crt, TWO 360k floppy drives and of course ran on MS-DOS. Cost - $4000 in 1983.

I picture you as the pilot from LOST.

Worked all weekend. This two jobs thing is getting to be a pain. Day 15 out of 20 without a day off right now. Oh well, at least I have a job at all, right?
Yuck! Did that for about 8 years when I was younger. Like in my thirties... Two full time jobs was no fun. But it got me out of debt and kept me that way until I could find a decent paying job. Hope I never have to do it again. Also hope you also get a break soon. Maybe a nice long weekend this coming weekend?

Honestly, it sounds like someone was tinkering and then returned it without relocking the bootloader. I highly doubt you would get an unlocked phone right out of the box from Verizon.

I was clearly within my 14 days so I got a brand new phone and not a CTL. I'm baffled at how this happened. I called 611 just to ask and the lady I spoke with said the warehouse could of missed that when looking at the phone.
However, I returned my first phone for the same reason Han did, the screen was absolutely brutal. I compared the phone I'm sending back to the phone I just received and it is night and day difference. On Auto brightness the new phone is a lot brighter and the touch sounds are a little louder. I guess I should be happy, cause unlocking the phone is one last step I have to deal with now.:D

Couldn't you just do the opposite? Use the stock battery cover with the extended battery then carry around the stock battery? That's what I do...Works great.

Probably could, but I like the extended cover without hump and contoured back and also figure even if standard cover will fit on extended it may not stay on during a drop or something quite as well as it will be stressed. If I preferred the hump I might go your route.

You need Root Explorer or EStrong's File Manager becuase those allow /system to be mounted as Read/Write so that you can move the APK there. Astro doesn't have root permissions in the app so it can only read the /system directory.

Here is a walkthrough on Clockwork Mod with screenshots: [HOW-TO] CMW on LTE Version through Rom Manager - xda-developers

Thought I was the only one that uses EStrong's! Love that one as it can hook up LAN shares and FTP's in a really slick stock integrated fashion along with doing root read/write.

27 years old, married for about 1.5 years, no kids, one dog, administrative work for a PT practice, Triathlon coach (soon to be full time!), amateur/elite triathlete.

Gonna make a TiBu backup tonight and upgrade to 4.0.3 then tonight.

Hoping there are some kernel changes or something that gets be some better battery life.

Any noticeable changes at all in 4.0.3 or just some under the hood stuff?

(firmly putting on NOOB hat). Ok, how do I get to the system folder in Estrongs? I can see / copy the "download" folder, but can't get to the system folder at all. I press "up" a couple of times...get to the /sdcard, but if I press "up" again, I exit the app. Sorry to be SUCH a noob on this!

In the top bar click Favorites then click the phone that has the / under it.

That brings you to the root of the phone.

Quick question, does the home screen not rotate on this phone? On my wifes droid charge the homescreen does rotate but on ICS no go...

Also does anyone have problem with slow rotating from normal to landscape? There have been times where I need to swipe twice in a top to bottom after I have put the phone on its side or stood it back up and the app didn't rotate to the correct orientation.

"/" should be an option under favorites and you can also just goto setting and make "/" your default launch directory. You also need to enable root capability in the settings to get there.

OK, guess I'll throw my piece into the get to know you pie...

I'm 27, married with a 5 month old son, work for a city utility in Nashville operating excavation equipment.

Edit: also, I have never used tibackup, what's the difference in the free and paid apps and do I need the paid?
