Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Sorry to hear that BB. Is there a way to send hugs over the internet?

Thanks! They are beautiful!

Yeah I do Reddit.

Basically the front page is all the default subreddits that Reddit thinks people should see. You can add different subreddits to your front page to make it more customized to you.

There are HUNDREDS of sub-reddits but that's the fun in it.

Check out reddit.com/r/android - you will see a +Frontpage button in top right (I think) and it will add Android sub-reddit stories to your front page ordered using their voting algorithm.
Okay, cool, this helps - and thanks for the list of subreddits to look at. A friend of mine recommended the Reddit Enhancement Suite, do you use that?

Afternoon everyone!
Kindle Fire 10 eh? Sure it will be a success if the price point is on. My Prime is getting lonelier each day as I'm really just using my N7 around the house and on the go.

Hey, anyone else just get an email that looks like this? Kind of exciting. :)

BB....i see you are down in the dumps today and you're updated location. Sorry to hear that. Wish I had words of wisdom for you :(

Thanks Halon. Yeah, it was definitely not one of my favorite days. The day is certainly shot, I'm still kind of in flux about the rest of it.

Hey y'all!

What a day. Took my family to the kid zoo at, here in San Jose CA, Happy Hollow!

Had a blast!

Here is my boy on a kiddie ride by his lonesome. Gosh, he is growing up so fast!

Looks like I missed the action here, but had a great day of Real Life.

Night everyone!

Morning everyone!
Looks like I missed the pumpkin beer talk. :(
Pumpking is definitely one of my favorites. For a straight up pumpkin, Smuttynose is a good one. We're going to be carrying Alewerks at the restaurant. It's a small brewery from Williamsburg, VA. Haven't had it yet (or maybe I did last year?) but it's supposed to be great.

Yeah but I can't get mine to update. It tells me it's not compatible no matter how I try. :(

Try this BB:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.apps.walletnfcrel&hl=en

Go there and click install and then select your phone and have it push the latest version to your phone from the website. Worked for me.

Good morning all!

For those interested in how my interview went:
It went really well yesterday. They gave me some things to think about. I think they are willing to pay me what I want but the benefits aren't as good (insurance is higher, less time off, retirement match not as good, etc) However, it's really more in line with what I want to do at work and to be honest, some of the benefit differences are negligible and would definitely not make or break us. The only big concern is less time off and I would probaly lose all accumulated roll-over time I earned here in preparation for if/when the wife gets pregnant and has a baby. I've got a list of questions that I am going to call them back on (which they encouraged if I thought of anything) and they said to let them know if I am interested after I think about it and we would move forward with a face to face.

Anyway, hope everyone has a great Friday and great weekend!

I'm glad your interview went well. Maternal leave is a pain sometimes with employers. Paternal leave is much worse. I hope it all works out in the long run for you.

I actually got fired when Alsace was born because the wife had to have a C section and she was practically immobile for a week due to pain. (Low threshold) and my boss thought there was no sense in me being there. I disagreed with him and stayed with my family.

Good morning everyone and TGIF!

That sucks you got fired for that, but I think you made the right decision. That's the one I would have made. That is one thing I LOVE about the place I am now. Sick leave accumulates and rolls over year to year and I have tons of it. There are regulations on how much time can be spent with family, but it is loosely imposed. So I could easily take off a couple of weeks of sick leave and a week or so of vacation here for that purpose.

Yeah, any employer that doesn't respect family > job doesn't deserve my contribution to their business. Sucks but was the right decision. Well done!

Thanks! I'll try that later when I turn the laptop on.

Hmm, when I click that link, it says it's incompatible with all my devices.

I somehow already have it. For those that have the older version installed it will not prompt for an update. I had to swipe over to all apps in Play and find it in that list. When I clicked on it I had an option to update it.
