Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Special shout-out to all Giants Fans (like JMar) and anyone who dislikes Yankees (we know who you are) and Notre Dame.

Go Giants. Go Sooners.

Thanks bro. Even though this isn't a sports forum I have been trying to keep my posts from jinxing anything. That said, it feels good being a Giants fan right now! Let's go Giants, let's go!

Sandy has created mostly a rain event here on the southern coast of North Carolina. We are having a lot of wind, but really not much different than a good non-hurricane related storm. However, we do live in a house that is built on pilings (stilts) and I am not sure I will ever get used to the idea of the house swaying

Just checked out the ocean, it is not as churned up as one would expect. We face south and the wind is coming from the north so it is keeping the wave action down and actually pushing against it. The sound however is pushing more water towards us which is something we usually see in a Nor'easter or if we are on the back side of a hurricane.

Watching The Shining for the first time. I didn't realize it was Jack when I first saw him, not used to seeing him that young. And, I forgot the girl that played Olive Oil, in the live action Popeye movie with Robin Williams, was in this.

Morning folks!
Well, latest tracking is showing Sandy go further north from us so it probably won't be a direct hit to the DC area. Philly, on the other hand, yikes!

Morning! Sandy is passing us ever so slowly. The wind is still very high and from the North and it has stopped raining. The ocean is almost calm, you can see the swells but the wind knocks them down quickly, one of the advantages of a south facing beach! Good luck to all of you North of us.

Morning friends. Up early to 'reserve' a spot at a local park for my son's birthday party! Picked up some VIA for the wife...she likes iced coffee. Drinking a Grande Soy Latte right now though I was up before getting my fix.

How everyone on the east coast livin'?

Wake up and dance with me!!!!!

Good news is that the storm meant my dad wanted to do something to keep my daughter calm (she is a BIG worry wart) so he took her to the movies which allowed me to sleep in! I have awesome parents. :)

The bad news is that the red parts of every image I've seen of the path of Frankenstorm is right over me. Ugh.

I'm in Northern NJ and we haven't seen too much other than a couple gusts of wind stronger than normal. But we aren't really supposed to see much till later tonight with it getting increasingly worse through tomorrow into Tuesday. Schools are all closing around us though...ours is closed tomorrow with a strong chance of Tuesday but the superintendent refuses to call it off until he has to (I can't blame him but really?? What if the power goes out and he can't get to the service that does the call.)

Mine used to be the same way back in high school. There were days it was DANGEROUS getting to school because of snow/ice and he never called it.

My little camaro slid on ice like it was nothing. I pretty much drove without brakes in the winter because id just lose control :p

And it wasn't just me complaining that it was dangerous

Storm passed through here (southern coast of NC) yesterday and last night. Lots of rain and wind, but nothing major here.
However, feel free to smash it for our BB!

Nothing here in SC either. Go figure, I move from Jersey, and there is an awesome storm. No fair.
