Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I find it ironic and torturous that Finish Line's customer support hold music is the music without vocals to "Call me Maybe"

For some reason, that is probably the funniest thing I've heard in a while. :D

HEY EVERYONE!

Wish Dread a Happy Birthday!!

Wait, how did you know?
Thanks, though! :)

Anyone here use the Tecarta Bible apps? Fresh update in the Market. Complete redesign of the interface and it looks 100% better!

Hey Geek, I have tried a lot of the bible apps and devotionals available and have been disappointed in most (still nothing like my bible i have carried since a teenager). But, I really would like to have an e-version on my Nexie. What do you like about the Tecarta apps over others?

I like the you-version one myself, mainly because of the read aloud feature, I can listen in my car on the way to work.

Morning Anti, that is the one i am currently using. The Tecarta one for NIV is 9.99, seems a bit high but i am willing to spend it for the right app. I just wonder what the difference might be.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DREAD! :D

Maybe Tmo will turn on LTE in our area... or for that matter, ANYBODY but Verizon. They really have me over a barrel here as the ONLY provider with any signal to speak of.

If T-Mobile turns on lte in the roc, and there is no conflict using their unlimited data plan with the Lte network, they might be able to steal me from Verizon. Finally get out from the clutches of cdma control.

Hey Chief, we are somewhat in the same boat. Verizon is the only truly reliable carrier here in NC, more so in the mountains than at the coast but even at the coast it is by far the best. Would love to see more reliable competition, we switched from sprint to Verizon because of the better coverage about 6 years ago.

Copacetic, the Tecarta ones have the read aloud feature as well. I suggest downloading the KJV version, which is free I think, see if you like it and then download the NIV addon. I can't remember why I went with Tecarta over the Youversion, but there was a significant reason, because I did try the Youversion. It has day and night mode, which I leave in night mode all the time for the dark background and light text. Several versions available for offline use (I think that was a sticking point with others for me because they didn't have a specific version for offline use that I used) Several available add-ons, like different translations, commentaries, study Bibles, devotionals, etc for it. I absolutely LOVE this feature, though it's more for tablet use, is the ability to bring up 2 different versions or a version and the commentary side by side on the screen and individualy scroll each one. Like I said, give the KJV a try because I believe it's free and see what you think. Play with all the options and features and I really think you'll like it.

T-MO disussion:
I really like the direction they are heading. More LTE, cheaper plans with unsubsidized phones, option to tack on a monthly payment for the phone or pay it all up front. I absolutely love that because it allows us to better control what we pay month to month instead of letting carriers overcharge us for plans to make up for the subsidy.

Edit: Happy Birthday Dread!!!

Thanks Geek, that is a great idea as i always like to cross with KJV as well. My hard copy is a NASB Ryrie study bible. I have been using the NIV on my phone bc it seems like it is the more commonly used version in so many areas and i wanted a reference to what they were quoting. However, I find the NASB is more literal and the NIV is more of a concept translation with better flow. Thus the thoughts on putting NIV on the Nexie and having the NASB for study. I think I will give the KJV version a try and see what it is all about.

Yeah, the NIV is pretty common in most areas. I grew up on the original KJV so I usually cross the NIV with the KJV because sometimes the translation is pretty different.

So I found out last night I could trade in my PS3 at Gamestop for a pre-owned XBox360 and add on the 1 year warranty straight up. Crazy. Think I'm going to take them up on that offer this weekend, especially since I sold my Guitar Hero guitars for $50 last night to someone on Craigslist. That should get me enough to get the 360 and a kinect almost. I'll have to purchase a new blu-ray player, but that'll be ok. They're cheap enough now.

My dad called me this morning from work apparently "remembered" my birthday because he saw some bit on tv about Pearl Harbor Day.
Easiest way to remember it.
