Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Never was (and probably never will be) a swyper. Can type just fine with Swiftkey and two fingers. Glad to see SK still developing and upgrading like crazy though.

I think I used swype so much in my earlier days because my original devices are samsung skinned phones using the samsung keyboard that was horrible back in the day. I was also too cheap to buy any app other than Titanium Backup Pro, so I stuck to free apps like swype beta. I have since changed my philosophy and am willing to buy apps and games if I feel they are worth it, and will probably buy the real version of Flow when it hits the market.

I remember when the HTC_ime was all the rage with the OG Droid. Thought it was decent. Really the only other keyboard I've used. Bought Slide It when it was on sale real cheap but never really used it.

I have them, I don't use them. Sorry about the long press thing, it gone forever. ICS introduced new copy paste that uses the long press. It isn't coming back for keyboard changes.

Morning all... Been outta touch a little, as we just got home last night from our home finding trip to Austin. We put an application in on one place, and paid our deposit... Should know a final answer on Monday.
Much bigger for less $....

Also, we kept hearing that Austin is great, everyone loves and recommends it... Although driving/traffic is horrendous. Too true. But it was really good that we got to go. It does not feel like a concrete jungle and really gave us a great chance to look around town, see the new office etc.. But also means that our move is in less than 3 weeks too.... Lol

Going to have to play catch up in here but just wanted to pop in and say hi!

New place looks great Ryan, glad you got to go check it out. Busy few weeks ahead for you and your family. Flashed the new Sourcery 4.2 version 3 last night, will see today how it does. I was having some glitches with version 2, weird ones, like answering a call. lol. Happy Sunday Everyone!

SwiftKey Flow works great...except it does NOT function within search and address bars. Kind of WTF. Known bug in the beta. Hope they fix it in release version.
Hi! I have a similar issue with Swype, even on their newest beta, it would not work in those environments either. I was hoping swift key had fixed that issue, like you , I am hoping it is something they can correct. It makes it a PITA. LOL

Glad you found something, Ryan! Busy day, my son has a piano recital today, playing jingle bells and up on the house top. Should be fun!

Ryan, looks like a great house. Only two things missing to establish that you are a "local" (and the neighbors will welcome you with open arms):

Lo
The place looks great Ryan. I hope Austin works out for you. I will be relocating in a couple years and dread the hassle.

Don't take this the wrong way Capn but I actually though about how nice it would have been to have a Great pilot on 3 of the 4 flights we took... And wished it had been you flying us this weekend. Took a picture for ya just to prove I was thinking of you....

Seriously tho, I have not flown since 1998 and only 1 of the 4 flights was smooth. At all.
We had several bumpy takeoffs and a lot of bounces on touchdown. 2 flights so rough the overhead bins were popping open with stuff coming out during landing, one flight that hit turbulence good enough to throw the attendant down the aisle on his back, several conversations over the intercom that passengers should not have heard, and a close call on the ground in Austin with 3 airplanes taxiing to the same spot at the same time...
On 1 of the flights apparently the cabin channel was on during take off, after a pretty good bounce... (yes, I said on take off...) we all heard an Oops come over the intercom. And on the same flight, the pilot or copilot apologized Before we landed about a rough landing... That was encouraging.
And then on the last flight, after a 3-bounce landing, the pilot welcomed us to Phoenix. (that's where we had just come from,) and let us know it would be a balmy 72 degrees... And thanked us for flying American Airlines... Then another voice came on the speaker to apologize and let us know we had actually made it to Santa Barbara, it was 43 degrees, and thanks for flying Us Air express.. And that we would be landing soon... (as we were pulling up to the gate)

Anyways, I commented that we should have had Captain Ron from AF fly us... My wife agreed. Lol.

Overall it was a great weekend away! We had a great time, and are a little stressed but excited to be done with the move already!

I'm sorry you and your wife had such an ordeal Ryan, but I have to admit I was laughing so hard reading your post I had tears in my eyes and beer spray over my keyboard.

I apologize in advance if I sound egotistical, but there is a big difference in flying on a major airline and the regional "express" carriers. That said, turbulence is turbulence and I probably couldn't have done much better. (Although a bigger airplane does do better in rough air)

Other than that, I'm glad you two had a good time in Austin.

Edit: BTW, you're Premium. Blow up the size of your avatar so we can see the family!

The other thing I've noticed is that the former fighter pilots tend to be more, shall we say, aggressive on landing than the ex bomber/tanker/etc pilots.
