Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Any guesses on how long it takes to upload a 23 minute video to youtube?

Anyone? Anyone?

Right now I'm at 4% with 322 minutes left LOL

Recorded my trip, with the Nexus, of Lights on the Lake with my friend.

My guess is a long damn time!

:D

Hmm, Lifehacker links are usually my thing (well, really just posting links in general :D), but I can't seem to recall the one you're mentioning. Still, I'll take the drink anyway! Haha. ;)

Nice. :) Seems like people are getting mixed results so far, I'll wait a little until they're more stable and proven.

Trade drink for good clam chowder. I haven't had really good chowder since I was in Boston years ago.

What's the issue you are having?

Stigy,

When you say what's the issue, which part do you mean?

For MTP my issue is I thought the Dinc was horrible at transfer speeds when connected to the computer via a USB cable, but the Gnex seems to be staggeringly slow. I am rooted, have installed the naked samsung drivers, using a windows 7 32bit machine.

For the other issue, I followed the directions on XDA and deleted that file, but I am now seeing people on this thread say that they renamed it to .bak so that when an OTA comes they can install it - otherwise you can't. Well since I don't have the file any longer, I was hoping someone could send me a copy of their file that they made a .bak so that I can put it back on my phone and be prepared for the upcoming .bak files.

Thanks

How is everyone elses MTP file transfers? It took me like 2 hours yesterday to transfer 7GB of audiobooks. Then late last night it took almost 50 minutes to transfer 1GB.

What is everyone elses speeds when doing this?

Also if anyone can still help with reboot-from-recover.p (that you turned into a .bak file) I would truly, truly appreciate helping out.

I had the same problem. I then cancelled the copy, unplugged the USB cable from both devices, replugged, pasted again, and the transfer time was cut in half. Don't know why, but you might want to try it.

Oh man do I love Chimay Blue.

Drinking it with my new radio on my Gnex and going to watch a movie with the girlfriend. What an awesome night.

who was it that had picture sync issues where you cannot delete photos that sync'd accidentally from Google+? I have that now. :(

They have a little picassa emblem on them in my album and I can't delete. I'll start scrolling back in time to try and locate it but please let me know if you see this in the next hour lol!

I remember whoever it was had to delete all picasa folders and files. I ended up doing a factory reset.

Wondering if my charging port is bad. Having issues with copying files for backup to my laptop. Keep getting a device disconnected prompt. Thank God for dropbox. Just hope the wipe will fix it. If not, pray that I can unroot without adb issues.

Checking in. I guess I got a good one. No complaints here.

Same. Only complaint I have is I keep pulling it out of my pocket to look at it and this silly grin I can't seem to wipe off my face.

Getting very nice battery life now too. I keep the phone in 3G mode until I need to use data. Currently at 13 hours on the battery with 43% left for today. That's with making/taking about a dozen calls lasting 1 hour, 50 minutes, about two dozen texts and maybe an hour or so all told using the internet.

Still looking for a wallpaper I like.. hoping to find one that'll really show off the screen with a nice, deep black background and some vibrant colors on it. Found a couple that I thought I'd like.. but when putting them on the phone and in the resize window for the wallpaper, the black bars at the top and bottom are way blacker than the wallpaper.

Definitely love this phone!

I transferred around 6 GB this weekend from phone to PC. Took like 30 minutes, iirc. Less than an episode of Top Gear.

So loading a nandroid backup after the radio flash doesn't revert you back to the old radio...And I am actually getting worse battery life and worse reception...Oh gawd...The troubles continue.

Yep I feel the same way. Anyone have a .zip for the stock baseband?

I flashed a bunch of radios on my incredible so I have some experience. First, nandroid doesn't back up radios. To revert, and you need to flash the stock radio. Radio performance always seemed to vary from user to user, so it seemed like you just had to find one that works for you.

I finally was able to get DVD Catalyst to work with my Blu-rays. It was the firm ware for the drive that was at fault.:)

I still did not get an answer from VZW about the extended battery that I have ordered. I keep getting the run around.

Got my extended battery today. I really like the way it makes the phone feel in the hand... not noticeably thicker, but more rounded, and it feels somehow more solid and substantial (in a good way).

Frankly, I think Verizon could have made this the default battery. I can't imagine anybody would have complained.

Oh ... and I'm a 46-year-old technical writer in North Carolina. One wife (23 years and counting), one 13-year-old daughter, and one dog.
