Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Are you seeing an ad in notifications or just the icon?
Can you post a screen shot?

When it occurs, I get the ad too. I don't have one currently, but will take a screen shot next time. Occasionally, not always, but occasionally, it will even leave icons on my home screen after I swipe away the ad in my notification Page.

That sounds so much like an AirPush type thing. There are various different detectors out there. I currently use AppBrain. Trying a different one might yield different results.

Evening Everyone, busy week here. Houseful of company including our grandbaby (so cute, 14 months old). Two rentals changing over and getting readjusted back at the coast after being gone all summer. Today was a great day on the beach, air and water similar temperatures and both very comfortable. Sleep well all!

Morning Dread, and happy Labor Day! I am not currently buying that, but if it's coming to Sprint, I imagine its coming to VZW too. I have an upgrade available, but my wife's Droid 3 has been mistreated and is starting to act a little crazy. And she is the type that refuses to take hand me downs, so me getting a new phone and giving her mine is probably isn't going to work. :( which means I will be waiting until May. Good thing I still love my phone. :)

Morning. I'm debating staying in bed for a while longer.
So funny. Rolled over grabbed my phone and thought there same thing. I never sleep this late and i need to go ride my bike. I have i century coming up in three weeks and need to get in the miles.

Happy Labor Day!

I never thought I'd own a tablet and now I have one. Love it. My only problem with it is...I don't like being connected to mobile sites when I go to a web page. I don't want to have to request for desktop site in the options. I very much dislike mobile pages. On a phone I can see why but a tablet should be desktop.

That's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.

I tried to go back to sleep. Didn't work. Oh well.
Hope everyone has a great day!

Sup y'all! Hope everyone is enjoying their Labor Day!

So seriously, I know that our Watering Hole is awesome but the S3 Watering Hole is ahoppin'! Yes they're 14k posts behind us...but dang they're gaining momentum over there. (I am guilty of being a part of that momentum) :vroam:

Anyway...

Halon, if you want all desktop sites always you can enable it by default.

Here is how.

You have to use the stock android browser...find it with a quick Google search, set proper permissions, and reboot your device.

Then upon opening the browser, type: about:debug

Open settings

Under Advanced find User Agent and set to desktop.

Now all sites will appear like it would on a PC.

I will find a link for you to install the stock android browser and how to set permissions if you need more help. Gotta run right now. Baby just woke up from his nap.

Hi folks!

I'm having a heck of a time here, wondering if you can duplicate it:

I have a stereo BT headset. When I try to use Google Now with the BT on, it just says "Initializing"... for like a MINUTE. Then it goes to "Speak Now" and immediately craps out and says "Retry". And it's not just the first time: this happens every single time I access Google Now.

But when I turn the BT OFF, Google Now starts up immediately.

This is clearly a hangup in Google's code... if it's duplicable. Otherwise, it's either on my phone or the headset isn't doing whatever the headset does during a Google Now start-up (which, IMO, should be exactly NOTHING).

Anyone else living with this infuriating little glitch?
