Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning everyone!
Just watched that video of the Optimus G. That thing looks amazing!! :D
I don't even care if they make a Nexus out of it, their new UX looks really slick.

Good Morning All! Isn't it amazing how happy we are all to find out we are not alone? LOL, one could read this and think we are a selfish bunch , but we are just relieved we do not have to wipe our devices and can simply wait for the service to return. So glad we have each other to answer our questions, when it first started happening last night, a search of the web found nothing, but one quick post here and I had instant verification that all was well with our Nexie! Thanks everyone for making this a great place to be.

Morning everyone! I like my email more than Google Now so I went into apps and disabled the stock browser and uninstalled the updates to Google search then disabled it and now my emails are coming through. Just wanted to share in case anyone else wanted to try.

Morning everyone.

Weird error last night with Google Now - totally confused me, but glad I woke up to it being fixed. I figured if it wasn't fixed when I got up I would take a look at it.

BTW not sure if anyone uses Reddit but there are some good Android-related subreddits over there to browser, such as /r/Android /r/AndroidQuestions and /r/AndroidDev - all good information and people willing to help. Definitely use Reddit Sync (or Reddit Sync Pro) to browse Reddit on your phone. Best Reddit client out there hands down and an awesome, responsive developer.

Happy Thursday!

I had the same reaction as you Stig. It happened right as I was going to bed and I figured I didn't need e-mail when I slept anyway, so I left it alone and it was fixed this morning.

BTW...Good morning all! :)

Uh oh - now I have gray connection bars up top too. Ugh, not today.

Also Tweet Lanes got a nice update today - if anyone is not using it for Twitter check it out. Its a great Holo themed Twitter app that keeps it simple. It has no notifications for now, but should be in the next release and its just fast and works really well. I'll be taking some design cues from this app for my update.

So I was updating my wife's iPad last night to iOS 6 and it didn't have enough free space to do so (required 2.7GB). We had used it a couple of times to import some photos to show some people so there were a couple of hundred RAW+JPG pictures in the iPhoto library. So I went into iPhoto to delete them....easier said than done. Took 10 minutes to figure out how, or so I thought. What I had really done was "hide" the photos, but they were still on there. So then I hooked up to the computer to sync and get rid of them that way. No luck. After an hour of trying to figure this out, I had to Google how to do it. I found out you couldn't delete from iPhoto, you had to go into the stock Photo app to delete. Ok, I thought had tried that, but I'll do it again. It took me another 10 minutes to figure out where to access the delete function. So much for an intuitive operating system :p

Morning all :) Hope everyone saw the link post on the last page.

Just love how bad Apple is crashing and burning on this one: Apple's Maps App: Just How Bad Is It? | Mashable

"The problems are so numerous, Maps may never have a chance to prove itself before Google comes back strong. The search giant will soon release its iOS version, probably after just enough time has passed for us all to try Apple's Maps and pronounce it dead on arrival."

I'm up and running again. Did it the manual way, one at a time but wasn't too bad.

Still not sure how Titanium is supposed to restore and which options to select or just default and let er rip.

Good to have email on the phone again. Missed 2 appointments and no "instant" gratification.

Won't be fun when the lights eventually do go out.

Use Titanium to backup and restore User Apps and Data. Do not do the System Apps.

And by the way, it took multiple attempts to boot to recovery.

Finally put both thumbs on the volume up/down rocker, crammed it in and then another finger over at power, to get it to work.

I really had to mash that volume button on both sides, to get to recovery.

Once you get, it, it's like you won lotto, a chance to resucitate the patient!~

There are better ways to do this granted you aren't in a bootloop:

1. Boot phone and if you are running custom ROM, hold Power > Reboot > Recovery
2. Boot phone, terminal emulator then type su (enter) and then reboot recovery.

If you're near PC:
1. Plug into computer, command prompt, adb reboot recovery (enter)

Just FYI.

So I was checking out my OG Droid for a member here that asked where to find Up time on pre-ICS phones. Boy was I surprised when I saw the number.:eeK
