Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Morning folks...another Saturday at work for me...this is getting old.
I agree. Saturday and Sunday this weekend, Saturday and Sunday next weekend, and every day in between for me. But hey, I'm home for the Thanksgiving day so I'll take it.

On my way to Paris tonight to check out this "Nutella" tax Dread is talking about.

Morn Ron (or evening/afternoon!).
My wife nearly flipped when I told her about it. She's both a Francophile and obsessed with Nutella. Don't believe it's passed yet, but it's never too early to stock up. ;)

Good morning folks!

Up & running on a clean flash to 3.2 and it's quite nice. Happy to have the 4.1 deskclock back on the phone instead of that hideous 4.2 clock :)

Okay: I tried the app/data TiBU zip method.

I do not like it, Sam I am.

First of all, flashing it takes awhile as Recovery extracts the apps into the app drawer. Then once you get to the home screen, the phone is practically useless* while TiBU restores the data. It takes just as long - if not LONGER - than the old way of doing things. And system data elements like SMS/MMS and call log will not restore via the method... so I had to do the TiBU restore for those anyway.

Long story short: a nice feature to have, but it's going to be another TiBU bell & whistle that I'll likely never use.

* - "Useless" meaning that you really can't use any apps yet, as the data is still being written to them. You CAN make calls and send texts. Remember that any texts or calls you send/receive will be overwritten with the SMS/MMS & call log backup.

On a whole other topic:

'Star Wars: Episode VII': Michael Arndt has written treatment for next three films - Zap2it

Harrison Ford and Carrie Fisher are up for Star Wars VII! Someone go dig Mark Hamill out of obscurity and get him on the set! Let's DO this! :D

Hi Chief, backing everything up now to flash. I have stayed on stock since the replacement phone last month waiting for the next great thing, lol. Is 4.1.2 r1 what others refer to as 4.2?

No Copacetic, the full-blown 4.2 isn't out yet, although we have parts of it in JBSourcery and a few other ROMs. These ROMs are still on 4.1.2 but the 4.2 elements can be flashed as mods :)

Thanks, is there any word on 4.2? Some of what I read said that 4.1 is the last Jelly Bean, then it on to the next delicious dessert, does that hold true from the man in the know?

From what I have read everywhere, 4.2 is still Jelly Bean. Not sure where you heard that it was Key Lime Pie... but I have heard nothing to that effect.

Dang it, now I'm hungry :p

So I tried the new TiBU feature and when it came back to the home screen it stated that it was restoring the data, problem is it never did. It stated it did, but none of my apps had data restored. I think they still have some work to do for it.

Not to far back I went to a place called Chimney Rock and took a panorama or two and posted them on here. Today I went back and took a few photosphere pics.

This first one almost came out perfect if it wasn't for the fence.

Chief, thanks for the feedback with Titanium. Sorry it didn't work out for you. I don't have a ton of apps or much data for them so restoring the regular way is fine for me.

Evening all, I just flashed JB Sourcery 3.2. It goes all the way through and then starts repeating JBJourcery and then just stops. I can pull the battery, but it just repeats the same problem on reboot. Any thoughts?

Try another clean flash, see if that helps. If that doesn't work then you probably have a bad download. Restore a nandroid and re download.

How should i do that given it always goes back to the boot loop? Ok, I got it back to twrp, let me try 3.2 alone, then gapps instead of together.

Copacetic, how long are you waiting? That first boot takes a WHILE. But if it IS bootlooping on you, please verify the MD5s (and make sure you have the Jelly Bean Bootloader). That's about all I have to offer... :o

Hey Chief, it bootloops about 5 minutes then just goes dark. Stays dark until i pull the battery. MD5 is fine. Thanks JHawk, no, i could not get back to twrp to flash the Nandroid, but I finally got it to load and it is restoring the Nandroid now. Rebooting into Nandroid now, lets see what happens.
