Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

this is the first time I am using TWRP, always used Clockwork before. i wiped Davlik cache then Cache. Then i had it flash 3.2 and gapps. It said it was successful and I reboot. It is now looping the JBSourcery wording again with a newly flashed zip with correct MD5. How long might it take?

Looks like you only did a dirty flash and didn't factory reset. That could be a reason. Dirty flashes aren't always 100% and it's why the dev recomends clean flashing by factory resetting within recovery, and wiping cache, dalvik cache, and system. Try that and see if it takes.

OK, i am trying that. I thought i was clean flashing by wiping cache and davlik cache. I followed Team sourcery's direction and did not see anything about wiping system. Re-doing it now wiping cache, davlik cache and system. Chief, I don't have a Superwipe option.

don't forget the factory reset, that is arguably the most important part of a clean flash. Just be careful wiping system because that wipes the os off the phone.

Finally got it, I was hesitant on the factory reset option, but that is what it needed, did all of what JHawk recommended and am now on 3.2...wahoo! Now onto TIBU to finish restoring and setting up. Then on to explore this new ROM! Thanks Guys!

That's good to hear, glad you got things up and running. There's so many helpful tools for restoring that I just clean flash every time without worry once I back up and nandroid. Makes things easier in terms of reliability and you get quite good at restoring everything quickly.

Morning all! Looks like I missed the fun with forum issues yesterday, but seems to be up and back in gear today!

Had date night with the Mrs. yesterday, went and saw Flight, then dinner. Wow, its a long movie. Being in the aircraft industry, it was interesting, but the trailer doesn't really tell you what the movie is about. NOT one for the kids for sure!

Copacetic - glad you are up and running!

Morning Anti!
Yeah, I read a piece in the Post about Flight and the whole race issue. I'm not really a big Bond fan but everyone seems to be raving about Skyfall so maybe we'll see it soon.

Good morning all! :)

Copacetic, if you don't have Superwipe but want the script, it's in my Dropbox:

ATTENTION dear readers and lurkers! You are welcome to my Dropbox as well... but understand that I did not write any of these scripts, nor do I warrant them on your device. YOU assume all responsibility for using them.

Superwipe is a utility that formats data, cache, Dalvik and system all at once in recovery. Just put it in internal memory, and in Recovery, install it. Then flash the ROM & Gapps.

There is also a handy little tutorial in there if you get stuck that you might want to consult ;)

Hope this helps...

Race issue? Sorry, I didn't see anything that would indicate a racial undertone in that movie. Although you said the Post, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised. No, the reason its not safe for the kids is the prolific drug use, including detailed descriptions on the technique. Just what I want a movie doing, teaching my kids how to use drugs.

I saw a segment on the news once detailing exactly how people make meth. Tell me how good that is? Wasn't even the late news, it was the 5 o'clock news.

Sent from my toaster

It's a pretty sensationalist article:
In ‘Flight,’ Denzel Washington, white women and turbulence - The Washington Post

Edit: Prinny, my biggest beef with meth is that one of the ingredients in making it is lye. I use it (the pure stuff for drain clearing, not Drano) when making soap. Whelp, now it's increasingly hard to find. You have to go to a mom and pop hardware store to fine it. :(

Sigh. Thanks for the article. Its about what I expected from the Post.

Good morning all & happy Monday.

Seems like everything is getting back to normal. Finally allowed back inside the building at work - it definitely got pretty bad here. Hoping work gets back to normal, but continuing work on my app. Making tons of progress - hoping to have Version 3 out by January 1st 2013 at the absolute latest. Give people a chance to download my app for their new years resolution.

Still need to figure out in app purchases and their pricing but that is my last concern. Want to get all functionality complete and all errors fixed. Back to the grind!

I'll be around though.

Sounds good, Stigy.
Congrats on the app, and I think pimping it around New Years is a great idea! :)
I'm not a fan of in app purchases, but it may be different with iOS users.

I wasted time restoring with the TiBu zip before reading the WH. Phone went into bootloops. Did the battery pull, SuperWipe (thanks Chief!), reinstalled Sourcery 3.2 and restored my apps from my nandroid via AppExtractor (thanks Pup!) Definitely a like.

Now that my phone is working again I'm heading out for a nice afternoon walk to grap an espresso and a Nutella crepe in honor of Dread's wife. :D

It's a holiday today (actually yesterday but also celebrated today), so...

Thanks Vets!

And thanks Chief and any other local heroes at AF. My military "service" was as an Air Force Brat ;)

Again thank you to all who have served our country and continue to do so today!

Sounds good, Stigy.

I am going to use in-app purchases to remove ads and/or unlock full database access within the app. Still haven't decided what I want to do yet. I kinda want to do a $1.99 price so I can put it on "sale" from time to time at $0.99 - I feel people will buy things since they are on sale.

ALSO this is from NJ's snowstorm / nor'easter last week before it started accumulating.

Google has done great things with Maps. But. I find that many times it was wrong on locating places and Bing is much better. My place for example. GMaps has it at least a mile down the road where as Bing has me as the next door neighbor. GMaps also gets business locations wrong a good percentage of the time.
