Made it through the first round. Ugh, I'm already bored.
Edit: called on the second round. Bah, let's get this over with.

My guess is that there will be a tool, similar to the htc dev or asus unlocker apk, that has the encryption passcode built into it, and after you consent, sends information about your device back to a server. Could be the serial number, the esn, maybe both. Since Verizon already knows your esn, all they have to do is match up your active esn with the one in their database and presto, they add the charge.
The thing that gets me is that their going to sell it for 300 on contract, but yet it's going to be available on google play at roughly nexus pricing, and if you buy it from google play, you can unlock it without the charge? Seems contradictory to me.

What's a "toplap"?
Hey guys, having a lot of trouble with my phone today, keeps not recognizing my SIM card. :/ Keep receiving a popup saying "Mobile network will not be available until valid SIM card inserted," with the only option button being to reboot. Have rebooted several times in the last several hours, but to no avail. Can't access data for browser, apps, etc. Anyone have a clue what the problem might be? TIA.
EDIT: Seems to be fixed now after another try of taking the SIM card out and blowing into the slot. Maybe there was some dust in there. Old Nintendo fixing skills, for the win. Thanks all.

DNA has this problem a lot, with the same fix. (At least for me).

Samsung commodity craptop. 500GB HDD, 4GB RAM, 17 inch screen, blah, blah, blah. Having had a Chromebook in my mind I stuck to that pricepoint and that's what I spent. Going from a 9 year old laptop with 512MB Ram and an abacus for a processor, its night and day.
Still don't like Win8, so I'll probably wind up with a Linux dual boot. I just have to get to a store and get some blank DVDs so I can make some restore discs incase I mess something up.![]()

Just messin with ya!Laptop spelt wrong.

Yeah, my laptop is pretty much a piece of crap, but works just fine. No interest in "upgrading" to Win8. 7 is just fine.
Surprised you found a Samsung for that price!
