Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I've been running Stock 4.3 because I'm waiting for AOKP. I tried quite a few ROMs but none had the either fit and finish of AOKP or the stability of Stock.

Sorry Halon.

Happy Sunday y'all!

Verizon nexus is on 4.3 stock? I thought Verizon was still 4.2?

Wow. I've been away from the watering hole too long. I thought I would never catch up on my reading! Hi everyone! Happy Sunday and have a great week!

As Pup said, one can flash stock 4.3 for the GNex.

Halon, I'm using a Nexus 4 these days, sorry for the confusion. However, because I will continue to use the Nexus line, once a Nexican, always a Nexican!

Morning all! Today is the day for a few of us lucky folks :) Should be able to get on Moto Maker in an hour and place my order.

I have no interest in moto locked down mediocrity.

Not sure why this is posted here randomly, but the only people who would say something like that about the Moto X are people who only understand hardware enough to know that more cores and higher gigahertz mean better benchmarks.

Ugh cracked the glass on my Nexus this weekend - phone still works, no cuts on my fingers. Ordered new glass and tools from eBay - has anyone replaced the glass on this thing? How difficult is it?

Maybe this is a sign its time for a new phone?

Good morning - happy Monday!

Took the day off tomorrow for my birthday, woo woo!

Happy early birthday!

No clue how hard it is to replace...you checked ifixit yet? I know they did a teardown back in the day.

Those commercials where the guy keeps cutting his fingers when he unlocks his phone is pretty hilarious. Sorry to hear your screen broke, but glad you aren't cutting your fingers on the screen, ha :)

Good call - checking iFixit now: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Teardown - iFixit

Eeeeeeeek.

The glass is fused to both the display and the display frame. So don't crack the glass unless you're good with a heat gun, or you're fond of replacing the glass, display, and frame together ($$$).

Yeah just tripped and landed right on my pocket. Didn't even think anything of it until I got home.

I'm surprised I haven't cracked mine. There have been many times at work where I would be leaning up against something or lifting a piece of metal and my phone ends up being part of the activity.

Is this the first image of the Google Nexus 5?

Doesn't look like a glass back. No "Google" on the back either.

Well, it's official. My Moto X is ordered. Maroon (crimson as Motorola calls it) back with white front and silver trim. 32GB. The bad thing is it isn't expected to be here until next Tuesday...far from a 4 day turnaround they promised.

Got a screenshot? Sounds very nice looking.

They must be sticking with the 23rd release and just letting you use MotoMaker before everyone else?

Watched Kick Ass 2 yesterday. The first 40 minutes or so was kinda boring but the rest of it is great. If you didn't like the first you probably won't like this. I've watched the first one probably around 10 times.

Apparently Jobs tanked. Good. Ashton might look like him but his voice always sounds like Kelso from That 70's Show. Here is Woz's review of it...Jobs, Reviewed by Steve Wozniak

These are the colors I used. You can go in and save different designs and then just click order when you've sufficiently debated on your color choices, haha. I created my wife's so I can click order when she's seen mine and decided it's really what she wants. She's concerned it'll be as big as the GNex, she doesn't like that.

I think I saw a pic of it being the same size as the iphone 5. Go find one and she can judge from that.

It's just a tad bigger than the iPhone 5. I think when mine comes in she'll be ready to order. I'm not really even sure I can order a second one at this point...I may check this afternoon.

I got to play with a new Nexus 7 today at Best Buy since I had to go in and buy refill cards. I have to say it is simply stunning, but I have to resist until the LTE version comes out. Jmar, since you work in the Best Buy Mobile section, do you know if I were to pop a sim card signed up for the 30 dollar plan with 5gb of data into a data enabled tablet and have it work. It just would make so much for sense to use the the 5gb that comes with that phone plan rather than only get 2gb for the same dollar amount.

I agree, I don't think it's the Nexus 4 because it doesn't have Google and/or Nexus written across the back of it. That has been their trademark on their unlocked Nexus devices.

EvLeaks: PSA: that "Nexus 5" is probably the LG Optimus L9 II. Nexus 5 (Nexus 4 v2?) looks to be a Motorola handset.

So my app downloads have skyrocketed over the past couple of weeks. Since August 5th I've had over 200 active installs added which puts me over the 6,000 mark :)

Just an FYI regarding Moto Maker, it appears Moto has removed the ability to add custom engravings on the back of the phone for the time being, if not permanently. I couldn't get mine added this morning, kept giving an error, but it wasn't important to me, so I just ordered anyway. Called a CSR for Moto to see if it would be added back in case my wife wanted something on hers and was told the feature had been removed from Moto Maker.

On a brighter note, she also checked my order status and it was in process and should arrive in 4 days, contrary to the 7-8 days estimated at completion of my order online.
