Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

True.

On unrelated note, I'm thinking the following phones for upgrade.

LG G2
Moto X
Nexus 5

Probably wait until the Nexus 5 gets released before I make a decision.

Moto X completely underwelms on paper, but reviews have been decent. Google/Moto software seems a plus.

LG G2 looks to destroy everything else out there on paper, but the LG bloatware crap hurts it. Would only consider it if enough dev support and stock ROMs available.

Nexus 5 have no idea about, if it even will be released, who's making it, will it work on Verizon, reduced specs for low price? No clue.

And Verizon compatibility isn't the lock it used to be. One look at my phone bill and I need to consider other options.

After hearing about all the nightmares people are experiencing using the moto maker, I'm really cautious about the Moto X. LG always seems to impress on the hardware front, but their software leaves much to be desired and seems to do a very good job of locking their bootloaders tight. The big developer teams have tended to avoid LG phones recently. Now that the Moto X is out, I'm also turning my attention to the Nexus 5. Really anxious to hear more official word about it, but the rumors range pretty wide regarding it.

My thoughts as well.

Hopefully the LG will be powerful enough to attract devs. Or if there's a Google Edition.

Rumors for the Nexus 5 are all over the map.

Why? Just curious.

Sold my Pioneer LaserDisc player and Star Wars 4, 5 and 6 (and a few more movies) last year.

I'm a big fan.

They don't have all the stupidity Lucas added.

And the VHS tapes I have are really old and don't really play, well, anymore.

LG has said no GE. We all know how that goes with others though. The buttons on the back of that phone completely turned me off.

I got the unmodified DVD releases. :D Yes, there were DVDs released that were the original theatrical release, despite some claiming to the contrary. Very limited release, not in a box set (had to buy separately) and the soundtrack was simple stereo (no THX remaster).

And the original VHS
VHS THX
VHS Special Edition
DVD Box (modified)
DVD Unmodified
BlueRay (extra stupid modified)

Sold the LaserDiscs last year as the price was too good to turn down.

Don't want to go into how many LoTR movies I've bought either.

Button placement changes on each phone I own. Takes me a week to get used to the new ones. Wasn't initially enthused about the back placement, but it actually might make better sense on a large format phone.

Don't know if I'd like it, hate it or be completely neutral.

<----- has the original trilogy theatrical release version laderdiscs converted to DVD somewhere around here...but other than Han shooting first, plain Star Wars (no episode anything) and the lack of the Jabba scene, I kinda prefer the Blu-ray version. Looks better, sounds better. Now let's hope Disney won't meddle any more with the original trilogy the way Uncle George did.

There is a rumor that Disney is going to release the untouched Originals. I hope they do and put it on bluray. If they do my current purchase will be pointless. Oh well :)

Don't know why Lucas was such as jerk about some things. Hate the franchise that made you all your money. Yeah, that makes sense.

But I fear for the Disney ownership and JJ Abrams takeover. It will be mass market, big bang crap with little substance. Just look at the Star Trek reboot.

I watched that new Star Trek movie a few weeks ago. Thought it was terrible. IMO some things really should just be laid to rest. Star Trek has had a very good run and I've always enjoyed anything Trek. But I really do think they're struggling now.
