Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

I missed the game but have seen it a number of times on sports center.
It was an ending we'll see now and then through the years. One of those unbelievable endings.

Man I'm still way too full.

Wow.. 13 hrs..?
Hi all hope everyone has had a great weekend...
Question.. And I pretty much know this is a dumb question but this is the place to ask among friends right?

Wife wants a 10 inch tablet for Christmas. Something with a full MS Office suite. Looking at Surface Pro 2, Samsung ATIV 5... Or something along those lines. But I am finding it's a full several hundred dollars more than a Note 10,1. What am I missing here? Why the Big difference in price if it's just the MS Office suite or Win8/RT? And why is my brain telling me this is ridiculous?
Thanks for not blasting me in advance... Lol

I wish I had an answer that didn't sound like me being an Android fanboy, but IMO the surface is just plain overpriced and you are buying MS reputation. I'd have your wife try Google docs and go with your gut on the Note 10.1.

Han would be a good person to ask about the Note. No, the iPad. Wait, the Note. Ok, a Nexus. No, a Note. iPad. BWM. Chevrolet. Audi. No wait, Pontiac. Blonde. Brunette. No, blonde. Ok, definitely red head. Wait - Vespa. Pasta. No no, chef's salad. Wait - steak. With pasta. Ok, just the pasta. Soup? Ok, yeah, definitely soup.

And Nexus.

J/k Han you know it's love! :)

Good morning all!

Happy belated Thanksgiving to all - hope it was well spent with friends and family.

Ugh, back at work on Monday after a nice long weekend is awful.

Morning! So seems like the Cyber Monday $349 Moto X is stuck on the launch pad. Servers are overwhelmed, and the few that can get through are reporting the old price. Oh Moto, why can't you be like Google. Oh. Wait. :p

Google is having a good time this year. They are selling out their products like candy!!! I wilh I had like $100,000 to invest in Google.

Han would be a good person to ask about the Note. He's had around 5 in the past month or so. <-----somewhat true :D

Actually I think it was 3. And an iPad Air. And an iPad mini.

For what it's worth, if you want a tablet for handwritten note-taking, the Note 10.1 can't be beat. Like paper and pen. Wonderful.

If you want flawless PDF annotation and fluid book reading, in addition to lag-less app opening/closing and web browsing, the iPad is the way to go.

For movie watching, it's a wash, although Android has a slight edge because it's so easy to load media (no crappy converting or iTunes business).

I'm pretty happy with the Mini so far. I have until January to decide whether I want to stick with it or go with the Air again. I'm still thinking about it.

But, all in all, it's my humble opinion that Android completely blows Apple out of the water in phones. It's not even close. But in tablets, Android still has a lot of catching up to do.

Just watched the series finale of Breaking Bad last night.

Wow. Freaking incredible show, from start to finish. I can't remember a single episode that was "filler" material and didn't somehow move the story along. The entire drama moved very quickly from beginning to end.

I'm still in shock from the 3rd to last episode (the desert/money pit episode).

I think this edges out The Shield as the best show I've ever watched.

My top 5:

1. Breaking Bad
2. The Shield
3. LOST
4. Homeland
5. The Walking Dead, Boardwalk Empire, or Dexter*

* Edit: Boardwalk Empire added; Dexter's final season SUCKED from start to finish, but overall had very great moments.

I thought the Walking Dead was great when it first started. Anymore now? I don't know? It took 8 episodes for them to have a good one this season. If you want to talk filler, that show is mostly filler. 8 freaking episodes and now you have to wait till February until it starts back up.

I agree on Dexter with the final season. The Trinity Killer season was the best for me.

Agree on everything you've said. I have 4 unwatched episodes of The Walking Dead, so I might dole them out to myself slowly over the next couple of months.

I should have also included Boardwalk Empire as a possible number 5. I've got the whole season to watch still, all downloaded. That's a great show as well.

I'm still pissed about the Dexter finale. The writers just continued to show their utter and total idiocy. The entire final season had the feeling of just another crappy season. No suspense and stupid plot holes.

Dexter rant/spoilers below:

I was so sure that Batista was going to figure out the truth about Dexter since he had all of La Guerta's effects, including the GAS STATION VIDEO SHOWING DEB GETTING GAS FOR DEXTER TO BURN DOWN THE CHURCH!!!!!

How awesome that would have been, to have Batista figure out the whole thing, and have the season be a slow-burn to the realization. Instead, we get a stupid shot of Dexter sailing toward a hurricane WHICH DOES NOT KILL HIM.

Ugh, what a stupid waste of time that show turned out to be.

That's the problem I found with it, too much talk, not enough zombies. Gave up with it. Talk filler is cheap, zombie action is expensive.

Its a very slow show. But is it even about zombies anymore?

I think it's shifted to more about Carl growing up to be a leader in the new zombified world.

But yeah, it's not as exciting as it once was. I usually have an episode of Homeland and The Walking Dead to watch on Monday, or something else. I never really pick TWD unless I have nothing else to watch.

It's still interesting to a degree because I like the characters, but I think killing off certain people took a lot of the tension away from the show and it kind of went downhill from there.

Despite some general sentiment here, I have to give major props to Verizon CSR.

Yesterday, I did an alternate upgrade at Best Buy (using an available upgrade on wifey

That's what I thought the show was turning into. Just about them trying to survive in a new world, and if they are able to keep their humanity.

:beer:Great to hear.:)
I've always had good luck when I called. It's in the stores where I want to tear my hair out.

Many CSR's do their job the best way they can. Many others, however, lie through their teeth. I've had it happen to me many times, and my sister (who used to work there) said that this was a common practice.

What got me to finally ditch them for good was their overall business strategy. Making me pay full retail for a phone if I wanted to keep unlimited data was BS, and their LTE was getting to be very, very slow.

Thankfully my wife finally saw reason and decided to not continue paying more than everyone else for crappy customer service and slow data speeds.
