Galaxy Nexus Watering Hole

Happy Thursday!

I am really torn, folks.

I like round watches well enough, but it's sort of a paradigm for me to see square data screens. Moto360 is all round. I think I'm going to have to hold out for something more Gear 2-ish. All that information on a round screen just seems... so limited.

What thinketh thou?

:)

It needs to first and foremost look like a watch I would wear myself. That's my style, analog and minimalist. The next step is size and thickness of the face. I may not care how thin my phone is, but I do on my watch. Then I want to know how the tech is facilitated.

For me, I want it to look, and to the job of, a watch first.

I have a confession to make.

I bought the Samsung 2014 Tab 10.1. Got Best Buy to price match to the lowest price around (but still a steep $580 out the door). Used the complimentary PlayStore credit to buy annotation software so I can use this for work. Played with it for a week.

But I could not accept that the home, back and menu buttoms were in a fixed location, so every time I changed orientation, I had to "remember" were the buttons were to use them. Sometimes they were at the top, sometimes on the left or right, etc. Dysfunctional design. What a total PITA.

So, um, well... I joined The HanSolo Returners Annonymous club :o

But I won't be buying it back next week ;)

I ordered a $10 capacitive pen for my Xoom and I'll see if that works for annotations.

Going to see my eye doctor today. I'll ask about getting Google Glass lenses made for the frame.
Questions is. What frames would look best on me?

OH this sucks eggs. Green eggs.

I found a website selling the original Galaxy Gear for $50. BRAND NEW. But the site has no field for credit card information... I can't buy it! Don't get me wrong: the Gear 1 is not my ideal, not by a long shot. But $50 is almost pizza money for a smartwatch and I can spring that. I can, but I can't. Sucks green eggs.

:(

The new HTC One is pretty sweet phone. Looks they are going all out this time. It is available online starting at 1pm and you could have it tomorrow, if you choose, for all carriers or walk into a Verizon store and purchase it. I would really like LG to put front facing speakers on the G3. If not I may switch?

LOL! :D

My confidence is not in my being cocky or anything, but in the disgust that taxpayers have for this Commission, that has essentially run unopposed since the Civil War (different people of course, but the same mentality). They just went tens of millions of dollars into debt to build a new school and a much-needed jail... but forgot to FURNISH either one! So they're bringing on yet ANOTHER tax increase.

CHECK THIS OUT:

One of the Commissioners is also Chairman of the County Ambulance Authority. Last year he was FIRED from the Ambulance Authority for his inept mismanagement and general incompetence. At the very next month's Commission meeting, he nominated himself to fill the vacancy he left, and they voted him back in to the same job!

In November 2013, a patient in our town desperately needed ambulance transport to Nashville, which is in another county. One hour each way, the weather was bad so the helicopter couldn't fly. This patient was REFUSED transport, because it was "policy" to always have X-number of ambulance teams in the county in case an emergency came up (never mind that this was a life-or-death emergency!). By the time another ambulance could arrive from another county to transport the patient, their condition had so deteriorated that they never made it to Nashville alive. When taken to task over this travesty, the Commissioner/Chairman coldly quoted policy and procedure, with absolutely no compassion.

Folks, this guy was just inducted into the 911 Hall of Honor!

THAT is why my conservative colleagues and I are running. To make sure things like this never happen again. This year we have enough candidates that - if we're all elected and I think we will be - we can turn the Commission around for the first time since Reconstruction in the 1860s.

It's an exciting, watershed year for our County, all eyes are on us, and I personally can't wait for the May primary to be over so I will know who my opponent is and get to work!

:)

Wow, unbelievable (or, since it IS politics, 100% believable unfortunately).

Party affiliations are irrelevant. Time for sanity. Vote for The Chief. :)
