Hi guys...
I purchased my GS2 unbranded and sim-free.
I have been able to update the firmware through KIES immediately each and every time an update has been released (don't have to wait for it to be modified and released by my provider).
I am currently on 2.3.3.
If I flashed to 2.3.4 using Odin it would be great to have a better Wi-Fi signal, battery life and percentage battery meter but....
a) If I brick my phone during the update is there any way to recover it?
b) I would obviously back up everything first but would I lose any data/apps/homepage shortcuts or anything else during the update which would need reinstalling afterwards?
Indeed will it leave everything as was?
c) I have read about rooting to remove/freeze provider's commercial apps etc.
As you know my phone is an unbranded, sim-free model so I have no provider's commercial apps on it. Will flashing to the leaked 2.3.4 put any of this rubbish on to my phone (I hate this)?
d) Would I be able to update normally using KIES when 2.3.4 is officially released or will KIES believe I have a released version and not offer me the "update"?
e) Is the officially released 2.3.4 likely to be different to the leaked version?
f) I remember on the GS1 that you could get to a hard reset menu by pressing a combination of buttons at the same time. Some GS1's did not respond to this and mine was one of them. Am I likely to have the same issue with my GS2 getting into Download mode?
g) Does the delayed camera shutter really annoy (you)?
h) Are there any other things you think I ought to know about and if you were me running 2.3.3 on an unbranded, sim-free phone would you flash to 2.3.4?
Many thanks to those of you who give your time to help me
