Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

Try stock for a change :D
Likey.
Kinda soured on nexus devices too. Hey, you did say stock :)

I suppose you are right. Kind of takes the fun out of android though. But it sucks having borked devices too. What a catch 22 but its been so long since I have been stock perhaps another try.
AJ!

I do remember that the GNex you sold me (for the Wife) was good to you. Of course, it had its battery flaws (all do) but I don't remember much else you didn't like.

Also, I know you had issues with the Nexus 7 WiFi+3G. But I am convinced you had a lemon. My Nexus 7 WiFi Only has been solid since day one (technically, day seven, when I got a replacement because the first one I got had screen issues, but you get my point).

I've been Nexus only since the GNex launched on Verizon, day one.

I now have the Nexus 4 on T-Mobile and my N7. I literally have no problems that aren't self-inflicted.

I know that all of our mileage may vary. Heck, my Wife's Nexus 4 was a lemon. Got it replaced and now she gets perfect reception.

I guess what I'm saying is come back...be a Nexican. It's never too late.

I seem to be having some issues. So, what else is new!?

Pull sim card out from note 2 since it is having issues, and place into my one x, running AOKP 4.2.2. Power back on, the HTC detects the AT&T microcell (network extender since service at the house is not really good.) shows full bars, but does nothing but give me an error.

So, I reboot the device. This time it works! I load up a web page that should not be cached, and it loads. So, I turn wifi back on, and continue getting apps for the device for a more daily driver.

After this, I disable wifi again, to run a speed test because I am curious and I get network error. Once again, showing full bars, so, I am thinking something is borked on the rom. On a whim, I toggle airplane mode and it brings my cell service back.

Now, this makes me kind of wonder a few things.

Is there a bug in either 4.2.2 that prevents switching between wifi and the mobile networks? Or just a bug in the rom itself? Once again, no hard evidence to back this up but so far I am having slightly poorer battery life on 4.2.2 on the one x and the issues with the nexus 7 and the rom I was using.

Not sure, but as been suggested before, I guess this is what I get for playing around with open software

Aj! Are you changing ROMs frequently? Not to be harsh or anything, but I've never run into any of these issues with my Gnex but: throughout the life of your Gnex, S3, HOX, N2, that's what we hear.
There's gotta be something you're doing or overdoing that's getting you to the point of throwing your phone against the wall.

Guess I will try to stick out the power button issue on the note 2 for a bit. It did get a bit worse after taking a dive onto a ceramic tile floor.

Guess I can set screen timeout real short.

Maybe I can help. You a sushi guy?
