Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

Just keeps getting better. I made a TBU of things yesterday, flashed rootbox 4.1. Did not like it so decided to go back to stockish and loaded up cleanrom 3 (which I found out the dev is going to abandon  )

Got the rom, installed TBU and went to install my backed up apps from last night.

LOL.

Not there. So, I get to install everything from scratch again. Luckily no games or anything. Just a PITA.

Can't rely on ANYTHING but unreliability.

Hope the rom works good and I get things working at least decent.

Trying to look at the bright side for a change, I guess. Perhaps a full wipe factory reset and clean install of everything may be good  :o

Jmar..... I'm pretty sure your "night wear" can't beat Treb's birthday suit.....

BECAUSE IT'S TREB'S BIRTHDAY TODAY! ! !

Happy Birthday to our beloved hole founder!

Happy b-day, Treb!
Party tonight? :beer::beer:

There will be fireworks over the entire country .... on behalf of Trebs b day! Oh wait, that the narcissist in me lol.

Happy birth, uh I mean fourth of July to the rest of the country. May our troops be safe here and abroad, and may they be comforted by the fact that the entire country... . On this day, appreciate the contribution they are making, by sharing today with Treb, I ...... oh Damn, I did it again!

Love ya Treb!

Seems the Note II is doing a bit better running cleanRom SE 3.0. Seems a bit faster but it was a clean install. Battery decent so far. Not sure about call quality but I don't make many phone calls anyway.

Nova launcher kind of took away some quirks too. So, I hope the phone and I can get back on track :)

Good morning folks!
Waiting to see how BB's haircolour turned out (a promise is a promise).
K'lin is enjoying her days off @ the pool side, sipping prosecco (yeah I know, but a drink is a drink) and turning burgers.
Daddy is getting his hands all scratched, playing with his kittens.
Huh is still in France watching le Tour de France, stuffing a baguette with brie.
Jmar is drooling on Rick A's outfit and magical voice.
Aj is giving his mobile toys a hard time.
Bread is... well.. baking bread and fixing our breakfast :D

What else is new here? :p

Just out of curiosity.... How often do you guys wipe your devices clean, and how long does it take to reinstall all the apps and such onto your phone? I know some people who do it every few months just to keep things "clean"? Is this even necessary?

Welcome to the Hole, airguitar!
Unless I'm swapping ROMs or the developer recommends a complete wipe, I'll only wipe cache and dalvik so no need to restore apps or data.
When I do a factory reset, it'll take some time for the Play Store to restore all your apps, but all data from them is gone (passwords, SMS, game scores etc.).
However, there are apps out there like Titanium Backup which can save all your apps AND data.
For periodic "maintenance" you can always wipe cache and dalvik. It helps to clean things out and perhaps speed up your device a little. :)
