Alright, now I'm more considering getting the new Nexus 7. Still kicking myself for getting the 8Gb old one. Any nandroid backups I store on the device take up ~2Gb even with compression! I scoured the thing for anything else taking up space, and I really don't have many apps, and no media. So frustrating.

I am thinking about picking up the new n7 too since my hspa model is having issues rendering it almost unusable for me. Was wanting the 4g version but I guess it is not totally needed.

Looking for a chromecast too...
 
Yeah, there was one BB a ways from us that had Chromecast in stock but now none of them do. We're doing fine with our tv options at this point with the Roku, but it'd be nice to watch some YT on the tv more easily.

I seriously believe I ended up with a defective nexus 7. Battery last about 8 hours no matter what.

Maybe I should lock the bootloader and contact Asus and see about a warranty replacement. Sucks I did not catch this during my return window. Not that I had the spare 400 bucks on my card for the hold...
 
Got the multiwindow 4.1.2 update for my note. Going to try the supersu pro a shot and see if it keeps the update rooted.

I expect to loose root...

It's a great device depending on what you'll use it for.
For me, I actually rarely use it, only because my laptop takes care of my internet needs.
Apps for tablets on Android are getting much better so it really is fast if you need to catch the news, weather and email.
I usually send all my email (which isn't much) through my phone.
But if gaming, casual surfing, email and Facebook are what you do, this is a great tablet for getting it done on the couch or bed. :)
 
Meh. Passed over the new N7 while at best buy. All they had was 16gb and I am still unsure of it or want lte.

I did pick up lightroom 5 though :)
 
Good day all. On my way home. Hubby is in front of me (coincidence), both waiting for the open bridge in our village. It's raining :( but... almost home!
