Galaxy S3 Watering Hole

Anyone else having allergies acting up this time of the year?
I'm super congested and now starting to sneeze frequently. :(

I did this past summer. I had 2 summer colds and several issues with allergies, including allergenic pink eye. Once it starts, it's nearly impossible to shake until the next season. I feel your pain. :(

For me now it's more the Cold of the Century slicing me down. :o

It's in Pittsburgh now!

We're rebuilding slowly. One guy a few blocks away paid his last house payment last month. And his house washed away.

We had 61 bridges damaged its hurting shipping badly. There are so many vehicles on roads that weren't designed for them. And with asphalt plants closing soon I don't know how they're going to get things fixed.

It's a big job because the county where I live is slightly smaller than Connecticut.

Good news is I bought a 360 to keep me busy and bring me into the last decade for gaming.

Anyone feel like answering a rooting question? I'm wondering if I'm doing anything wrong by flashing nightly's to my phone and restoring apps with the backup?

A lot of people do that.

You may be (theoretically) accelerating the end life of the storage a bit as nand flash can only be written to so many times - but I wouldn't personally sweat that, it's probably not a factor compared to any other use scenarios and the expected reliability of the other components.

Unless you're questioning your app restore strategy?

I was just wondering if it was the proper way to do things.

If interested in nightlies, yes, depending on the installation payload.

Some you can dirty flash - nothing is wiped out or overwritten, so there's no need to restore apps or data.

Some involves wiping things so you must restore.

No harm in always doing the restore though.

Do always wipe cache and Dalvik after flashing / restoring for best results.
