Verizon bloated my GNex, yeah, they bloat everything. Luckily with ICS you can freeze apps without root. Just go into Settings | Apps | Bloat and you should see a disable button.
I know Pup threw in his .02, but I'll add mine.
The OG Droid had very little, it was so close to stock (I think AmazonMP3 was the only one). When I got my Bionic there was a TON. Well, ended up rooting and freezing all those apps to get rid of them. Gave the phone to my wife who was getting furious with the outdated ROM and bad radios. Had to unroot and install a leaked ICS ROM. All that bloat came right back.
Now she complains about that. I'm done messing with her phone.
Hi and welcome, greetings, grab a beer and all that? Nuts? Yes, yes, you probably are, to be here
Yea, I'm not that fussed about a tablet on 3G. Wifi wi do me, as I already teather my ereader through my S3 so ill just do the same with a tablet. I'm just on the hunt for a decent spec tab, not a silly little 1ghz thing. Preferably something more powerful than my phone.
kymberlin,
I know you have been hitting the books hard on this topic so I found you another study guide : New Verizon Galaxy S3 Root Tool Brings Root, Recovery and Will Unroot You if Need be
On another note.... I think I have reached my saturation point with my current job I've decided to start looking for other opportunities. I just need to be careful not to pee in the pool until I have something else lined up.
Any of you have any experience/advice with applying to other jobs without risking the job you have?
Droidlife jumped the gun and looked bad doing it.
I'm not sure why they would leave the posting up... I would think they would remove it immediately so non-ocd people would not try on account of the positive DL reputation...
Oh well.... I shall wait patiently

I find as long as you get a tablet with a 1ghz + processor running ICS or higher, you'll be satisfied. I do have an older Galaxy Tab Plus (7") running Gingerbread, but it works fine for most of the things I do. That is watch video, read e-books, browse web, e-mail, Twitter and Skype. I do a lot of video conferencing with family. It's just so nice and easy having a 7" handheld, especially one with a rear facing camera so I can switch views and show people what I'm looking at.
Last year my bro and I were on a kick to try tablets. We both had iPads and wanted to expand our horizons. He got the HP Touchpad and a crappy Coby. I picked up the Transformer 1 (TF101) and Galaxy Tab 2 (7" Plus). I passed on the Xoom because it was just too clunky for me and the 10" Galaxy offered the same hardware limitations as my iPad (no microSD slot, proprietary plug, expensive price).
This year I upgraded. My Transformer went to my nephew who is in love with it. I picked up the Transformer Pad and Nexus 7. I highly recommend both (including the Transformer Pad or more expensive Infinity). All made by Asus who has a good track record with OS updates. Other one that interests me is the Galaxy Note 10.1 with it's combo Wacom/capacitive screen. I decided if I was going to enter the tablet market, I wanted things that offered a bonus to the iPad I already owned. Apple has invested their future in the app market but Android gives us more innovative tablet features. This year's 7" Galaxy Tab is not bad. They dropped the price to the $200 range and dropped the memory but you still have the microSD slot and dual cameras.
And of course, now that I've experienced a world of Swype, Live Wallpapers and Home Page Widgets, I just can't fathom being stuck in an iOS world.
Main question I tell everyone to answer is what do they want to do with their tablet. If you want it as a netbook replacement for typing, drawing, more data creation, then go for a 10" tablet. If you want it mainly to consume data in bed, the couch, bathroom, then go for a 7". You can do both on either device; it's just more comfortable to create data on a larger device. Just as it is easier to lug around a pocketbook-sized 7" tab.
Once I got my 7" Galaxy Tab last Autumn, I stopped carrying my iPad around completely. It makes a lovely nightstand clock now.
Right.... To good to be true! Gratefully I use multiple sources to get my info. Sad, since they were doing well for quite some time .
Glad to see you made it back, (gluten for punishment maybe? Lol )
I'm rally not understanding what all the hype is about the N7, maybe it's just me. If I am going to get a tab soon, then I won't be replacing it for ideally a few years.
Most tablets around are dual core 1ghz to 1.2 if you're lucky, to me that's just bottom end. Having an S3, I'd expect a tablet to have a lot more guts. The only real contenders for me are the Asus Transformer Pad TF300T, or the Infinity. The TF300T I can get for
Have you rooted yet? I wanna know when we get to throw you the party already! Lol. I'll make cake
Great specs at an awesome price point for me. I'm not worried about only having 16GB as I am at home on WiFi primarily when I use it so cloud isn't an issue. Also, every device I've owned has had 16GB and I never came close to maxing out, even with all the nandroid backups. Saying that, I never really loaded movies on those as I have the N7 so we will see.
Not yet. :turtle: I am scared to hook up my phone to an actual computer. The last time I did, I had every cached imaged transferred over to my PC.
I am in the process of organanising my photos/ videos(which is still challenging to me) so I will not have 82 photo folders on my S3.
I did connect (many years ago) my OG DINC to the computer and it was a hot mess trying to figure out how to navigate through everything.
Since in order to root I have to connect ~ I am practicing if you will on figuring out the language on the back end.
I have photos everywhere.... SD, Camera... But since they are all in separate folders I'm curious if I should just buy an additional sd card, format it and move the pics I want from the computer to the card.???
I can't stand trying to figure out which folder all this crap is in. ! GRRRRR:argh:
Treb..... Crab legs for dinner !
