Alright, made my massive shopping trip for dinner tonight. I have the problem with having a friend over who is used to awesome food I've made so I can't take any shortcuts this time.
For the most part, pretty straight forward
Snacks: Pretzels and a Port Cheese sauce (all store bought ;))
Salad: Radicchio and Romaine with fennel, goat cheese, oranges, walnuts and a bacon vinaigrette
Pizza: Bunch of options. Dough is made and slowly proofing in the fridge. Got some fresh mozz, Camembert, anchovies, olives, capers, pesto, tomato sauce, eggplant, tomatoes, garlic, red onions. Should be enough choices. :)
Dessert: Tiramisu semifreddo. This one will be the trickiest, but not terribly hard.
Hoping it all turns out well! :D

I was done with that chapter, but the nerve? Really. Pfff.
Done :D

ah a runner. Take it you told him to bolt (**** off) :)

Hi there,

I'm a new member, just purchased a Galaxy S3. Having a problem with figuring out how to move my apps from my S2 over to the S3. I have BackMeUp Lite and the backup files are on my external SD Card which I have placed in the S3. My problem is that when I open the app on the S3, there are no files listed when I use the Restore feature, and no way I can see to manually direct the Restore to the file locations on the external SD card.

Can anyone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance!

A difference between the s2 and s3 you have to get your head around is that the s3 calls its internal memory SD Card and the removable storage Ext SD Card and a lot of apps dont take that into consideration yet mate.
Also, a stock s3 wont read apps from Ext SD, its just for media

There's only three of us but I have 4 doughs total for pizza. :)

Pretty set on my Tiramisu of sorts. Think it's going to turn out well. Should be a Napoleon type of presentation.

Sounds great, but as you know we like our beverages in here. So, any special drinkie poo's ;):p

Ehhh, that's what the guest is for. ;)
Probably just wine, she may bring beer also. I'll get back out this afternoon to pick up something. We're keeping it chill. :)

lol thanks geeks :)
The thing is, ive kinda looked into this because my s3 display has burn-in and the warranty in europe is 2yrs.. aparently (in EU anyway) rooting can only void the warranty if it can be proven that its caused the defect. Theres no way modified firmware can cause the display LEDs to degrade faster. Ive mailed Samsung though and been up front about the device being modified (out of principle, i could easily return it to factory state if i have to) and i got a canned response saying the warranty is void if the phone has been "tampered with".
Wish i had the energy and motivation to fight something like that on behalf of all us rooters :)

Oh yeah, back to my original point lol. Surely Nexuses (Nexi?) are designed to be messed with?

Yes, Nexi are meant to be tinkered but come with the same rules.

So does that mean I can't "restore" my apps from the old S2 to the new S3? thanks

Tbh i havent used the app that you used for the backup mate. Is it a root app? Do you still have the s2? There will be ways for you to do this
Have you tried using a file explorer on the s3 (like the pre-installed My Files app) to move the data from Ext Sd to Sd Card to see if the app can find them there?

Funky: those were exactly my words, amongst a few others ;)

Daddy 'O: how are your kitties?

Home after Italian dinner with family. Bread's menu sounds a tat better though :)
Had a great evening with our nephew (10) and niece (13). :p

Kaat, I'm still deep in prep!
Finished the bacon vinaigrette. Nothing serious. Wish I would have gotten sherry vinegar at the store but settled for balsamic. :o
Dessert is still evolving. Thought I'd toast up some brioche and sandwich them in between the tiramisu. Coated the bread slices with a nutella ganache. Hoping the end result won't look too trashy, but even still, it'll be tasty. :)

Bread i love Bacon i love it soo much i've even had the Shakes from Jack in the Box so you got me curious with the Bacon Viniagrette :)

Pretty simple (okay, I over use that phrase).
Bacon, sauteed, rendered all its fat but saved. Toss that in a blender with vinegar (I used balsamic but prefer sherry), mustard, pinch of salt and pepper). Emulsify with oil. I use a combination of olive oil and canola.
It's one of those things where you need to visualize and taste what you need but it's not hard, promise.
Hope you give it a shot. :)
