Gameloft games for Android!

I've just bought Let's Golf! which I love on my iPod touch.

If it works okay I may get rid of the thing as it's probably the only game I really play on it! :P

How long did it take the game to download the 135mb for you guys on dungeon hunters....mine is still only a quarter of the way and its been 20 min

Lee, mine took about 15 minutes over WiFi. Anygame that has to download a data pack recommends wifi, since cellular data can go slower.

I can tell you first hand that Gangstar does work on the N1. Right now I have all but two games from there 10, and the only two not working for me is Nova and Modern combat. I don't have th football and soccer games so I cannot comment on those.

I've got a question, as I am a N1 owner also. I downloaded the apk to install the app, then I downloaded the data from from someone that uploaded them to like rapidshare. When you run the game for the first time it creates a folder directory in your sd card.

So I then extracted the data files that I just downloaded and copied them to the /sdcard/gameloft/games/gangstar directory, but anytime I launch the game, it still asks me to download the data files, therefore I cannot go past that screen and I am forced to exit the app.

Since you got it working for your N1, do you think you can help me out and at the least tell me the directory in which all the data files are saved in? I'd really appreciate it. :)

There obviously is a slight possibility that the data files that I downloaded could either be corrupted or incomplete. As my profile says, I am deployed to Iraq right now, therefore I have no access to 3G nor do I even have WiFi access to download directly onto my phone, so I have to rely on downloading stuff from a internet cafe.

I just wish I could get the data files for Asphalt 5. That game looks awesome! Anyway, thanks for any help anyone can provide. BTW, I do NOT expect anything to be given to me, especially free. Just so that you don't think that I am a moocher.

I downloaded Nova and it works perfect on my incredible. Just like the iPhone version. I downloaded it from my computer so give that a try.

mine closes after downloading the additional data.... it acts like it rebooting the program but never comes back up, opening it again just cycles the download additional data process (although the bar is already at 100%)... i quit on it

although i pirated it so i could try it out because of their stupid refund policy

So to get Nova or Modern Combat you have to DL to your computer then transfer the files over to sd card??

Lol I sucked it up and bought it off the site. Did you pick Motorola Droid version? That seems to work

I'm pretty disappointed by the quality of the ports from the iphone versions of the games they released as "HD games", one can't really call that a smooth experience...I get the impression Gameloft simply hired the cheapest crew available to quickly churn out something that at least doesn't force-close to make a quick buck. The only reason they sell the games only on the gameloft site is surely only to save the 30% fee that Google takes for purchases on the market, but their customers suffer for it because they can't easily get updates on the buggy software and can't get a refund for it if they aren't happy with. I really hope they change their policy for distribution on android, I certainly won't buy something from gameloft.com ever again.

Hmm, some games like Football 2010 and Let's Golf work great on my Incredible. But, some games like N.O.V.A. and Modern Combat won't start. The files completely download (after the initial download), but then the games will just force close immediately. However, the exact files work on my Dad's Motorola Droid. Why would they work on the Droid, but not the Incredible?

Hmmm Nova works just fine on my incredible. Lags once in a while but that's it.

I installed the file and started it just fine. Then, it asked me to download the rest of the files via WiFi, so I let it. The files completely downloaded, but when I start the program, it force closes immediately. What did I do wrong, did you do anything special to get it to work?

I too bought Dungeon Hunter via SMS for the desire and it too doesn't work. Downloads fine installs fine then downloads the 135ish MB file via Wifi which it does fine then when I run it all that happens is a brief flash of a timer then nothing.

Emailed support and got this as a reply

This was on the 18th of June took them a couple of days to even answer my email. Very poor support in my view.

Nice that they're still selling games that don't work... a better company would at least suspend the sales page, or at least put up a notice for HD+ buyers until they have fixed the problem. I'm surprised nobody has asked for a refund, but instead are just waiting for a fix...

Thanks for the update! Has anyone tried NOVA recently with a Snapdragon?

I dont know how Nova is acting up on Everyone else's phone. It works perfect on my Incredible. Did you select Droid when downloading it? Thats what I had to do. Bought it on my computer and got the SMS. Downloaded over wifi and everything was worked fine. Lags once in a while but other than that I've not had a problem.

Nice way to avoid answering your refund request. They didn't even give a timeline so for all you know, it could be months (ala Hero update) before they release something. I know the cost is not worth the time to argue about, but I wonder if you went to the credit card and complained that they sold you a faulty product and want to reverse the charges, if enough people did that then visa/mastercard would flag that site and not process anymore.

that was a response to asking for a refund
