Root GB miui 2.3.5

Had to go back to Oxygen as it's just not polished enough for me. It works, and it's good, but needs a bit more work yet

Yeah i figured it wouldnt be polished its all mish mash atm. Its probably a good idea to wait a good few weeks before its polished and stable. Thats why Im still on 1.2.4 its bug free!

Ive just read the changelog. The chinese devs have been working on improving the launcher and new MIUI music app will be added.

It's not a mish mash at all, it's only the colour issues that are bugging me! I'm a perfectionist so if something doesn't look right I won't use it ;)

The ROM itself is fine, never had an issue with it really

Colour issues? you mean that awful jean theme is still present? lol Dont worry they are doing away with that! Thank god I really hate it with a passion! :D

As per my other post, no jeans theme in it at the moment - that was an MIUI-Dev creation and it's being added soon (hopefully not be default)

Colour issues as in wrong text colour on certain screens. e.g. On the Google account sign in screen (under the password box) you have some links to the Google T&Cs. You can't see these as it's white writing on a very light grey background

Ahhh I see. Ive read about that somewhere! Hopefully that will be ironed out in time for tommorow's release!

Here's what I mean about the colours being off (this is from 1.4.8 earlier this afternoon)

Title text should be grey not black, T&Cs writing should be ANYTHING but white and Sign in button inactive text should be black

Sad news for Eevek fans, he has decided to pack it in! He wont be releasing his version of MIUI anymore. He confirmed this over on XDA :(

Ive had a quick glance on the changelog for this fridays imminent release. New MIUI gallery and new MIUI camera is included. Good times!

Surprise news coming out from china. We are also going to get new desktop icons on MIUI. This release is starting to sound like a major version worth looking at. Im defo gona give it a spin!

Yup Im with you on that one. It would bug me If those issues werent corrected so lets hope its fixed in time for tomorrow

Date issue IS fixed but it's the unreadable text that annoys me. Here's hoping

For anyone interested to see the new icons:

MIUI devs have released an english website for international users. Check my original post for the link

What's the current state of this rom? Is it stable? In English? Battery life issues sorted?
Just downloaded MIUI_XJ_A2SD_1.4.15_2.3_x1_Signed.zip. Feeling tempted but is it worth it at the moment? Currently running Redux V1.1.2 which is stable and fast, reluctant to mess with it if this rom is still a "work in progress" as it were.

Should I back up and have a play or wait?

How you finding it? Personallly I am not happy with GB MIUI. Im only saying this cos Ive been spoilt by Froyo's version. The battery life isnt as good as Froyo but the rom Itself is getting stable each passing week. The UI is constantly evolving but I hate certain aspects of GB MIUI esp the orange overglow! I hate that with a passion and they messed around with the setting tabs It was fine at the bottom of the screen but now its at the top. Most pointless decision ever! Plus the new gallery isnt all that either so I reckon It will be a good few weeks before GB is mature. Until then I am staying away from it cos I just dont see any compelling reasons to move away from Froyo. Its very much work in progress atm

I flashed the latest version of MIUI-AU a couple of days ago (it initially knocked my Wi-Fi out which required a slightly nervous first time flashing of a radio) and I must say it's much more complete than I was expecting.

There is a couple of issues with the text colours still, and the theming isn't perfect but apart from that its very stable considering it is the 3rd or 4th release. I cant recall a single force close yet.... (touch wood, I haven't been through that much stuff yet)

I think it is good enough that I'll adopt it for my day to day uses.

Im guessing you're rooted. Have you installed custom rom before? If yes then just add MIUI rom of your choice from recovery. There are couple MIUI roms with A2SD feature at the moment. Check out XJ MIUI on XDA and Mark Huk's deodexed version on MIUI-dev. You dont need to repartition you SD card again 512mb ext 3 is fine. As for updating, you dont have to update very friday cos personally its only worth updating if they adding some major new stuff on it otherwise I dont bother.

Quite like that, bit different from all the white! They need to change the folder title colour though
