GB27 on Boost

Hi all,
I just flashed my boost mobile S2E4 with the SPH-D710_GB27_1014481_Stock_Restore.exe and it went just fine. Everything works including text messaging right out of the box (so to speak). Now my question...do i need to have anything set specifically for boost as opposed to Sprint? For example, i assume i should have roaming set to sprint only as boost does not offer roaming. Also another question....once samsung releases their official 4.1.? update will the phone take that update or will i need to stay with custom ROMs from this point on or flash back to an oem ROM for it to take the update. Lastly, will Boost give me any grief now that i have an custom ROM on the phone (don't care about warranty and i pay for tethering). Not really worried just looking for some insight. thanks for your time.

Well you might want to check your apn settings to see if they are set to boost or not for mms if you care about receiving or sending mms.

If the 4.2 update makes it to the states, there's been rumored going around that the international s2 will only get 4.2 but I wouldn't bank on that one. If you do want the official update, you'll need to Odin the stock recovery to take the OTA.

If you don't care about the official OTA, you could just as easily wait probably a week if that for a dev to make a build based off of OTA without having to Odin a stock recovery and re rooting which I highly recommend going with this option.

I'm not sure about the warranty issue as I've never been with boost, but I've heard several people having good stories with having a rooted device replaced with little to no problems.

thanks guys. i knew about the MMS URL change and went ahead and did update it. I had made the change to the new ROM because my phone has the Loss Of Service issue. I am hoping it is a modem software issue... Time will tell if the new firmware with the new Kernel and Modem software helps. Otherwise no bugs or funky behavior, except for the phantom clicks but i had that on the oem ROM also... I am not rooted so i will look for a fix on that. If there isn't one it is a non-issue for me. I'll wait for the next custom ROM and not worry about the OTA updates. It is much better coming here and working though 5 or 10 pages then going to XDA and weeding though 300+... thanks again.

interesting note...i did a reflash due to battery issues (could sit there and watch the level drop)...anyway during the reflash i noticed it said i still had the Official Samsung ROM and the phone did not have a custom ROM on it. So this ROM does not trigger the count clock... :)

Edit... it was the battery. :)

Ive never seen a one click that trigger it. If u notice after flashing it says update complete. So its basically giving u a ota update is what the phone thinks
