Yes! After work straight home and go for the update! :D

Let you know in a small review what my findings are.

Edit: No update, no findings. May it is then, hopefully..

In the next 24 hours for the UK surely, Just the Scandinavian countries for now

I read somewhere there on XDA forums that if you're device ir only running 2.2 and not 2.2.1, Kies will not detect the update. Anyone know if theres any truth in this?

Doesn't make sense. I heard they going to roll out Gingerbread in Australia now as well and as far as I know they never get an update to 2.2.1....

my phone doesn't rotate in gingerbread. gravity sensor doesn't seem to work with the official release. been using for almost a day now since flashing through odin this official release.

running 2.2.1 and kies says no update. in fact in kies - under basic information: current firmware version is blank. does not look like kies is detecting 2.2.1

Can somebody please help me. Samsung Kies offered me the new Gingerbread update an hour ago. I did not initialise it as I needed to leave the room. When I came back the update was no longer available and is no longer recognised by Kies. It says there is no update.

What the hell is going on?

Try

Tools> Firmware upgrade settings ?

Really appreciate your help :) No unfortunately none of that worked. I can only guess Samsung have decided to not roll out the upgrade and it was an aberration. Weird. :(.

no uk upgrade for me either

kies show that i am on

jpy jpy jpy(XEU)

looks like they pulled the JVK upgrade for U.K!!!

Wonder why...did they put out the (leaked in feb) JVK by accident? or is it meant to be the same one?

JVK Officially available through KIes! UK - Page 8 - xda-developers

Ox I suggest you flash back to 2.2.1 stock JPY again and wait for the fixed JVK.
Apparently Samsung withdrew it since they've found a fault. Which probably makes sense since they came to work this morning to realise something went wrong.

I don't mind waiting. The leaked JVK firmware had issues like multi-touch with Google's own IME keyboards & etc anyway. Better later then having a buggy firmware.

Guys,

I'm desperate to get on and get my ex SGS (now the wifes) upgraded to 2.3 but I'm not sure if things will end in disaster as I've rooted and installed One Click Lag Fix (OCLF).

I could unroot ahead of time I'm sure but I'd rather not, is it OK to upgrade with root in place?

I have an issue with the OCLF, I'm pretty sure the tweak is still in place but when I factory reset the phone to give it to her I completely forgot un-tweak it first. OCLF no longer gives me the option to remove it. Any ideas if I'm safe to do the upgrade with this in place?

Thanks guys, be great to get the handset working as it should.

Tom

Me too Yakboy,

I have Z4 Root, Superuser, Root Explorer, Voodoo kernel, CWM, Busybox and a ton of apps both on Sd card and internal memory. Oh, and a custom launcher. Will I loose ALL this if/when I upgrade? Will it just turn it back into a vanilla device and I'll have to start all over again?!
