Every single Verizon Wireless employee I know is at work today. A friend of mine worked for Verizon Residential several years ago when they went on strike, and the wireless employees were not effected then either. I don't believe VZW employees are union members, and if they are its a different union from the Residential employees. Sometimes Wireless and Residential may as well be different companies. From what I understand, this is one of those times.
Also, based on this I currently have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Evan in completely full of BS.
Just my two cents on current events.
PS. Sadly I don't know any of the VZW employees well enough to try and pry update news from them. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't know anyway.
Why is this strike only effecting our update and not the xoom update that verizon is pushing right now? Android 3.2 OTA Update Rolling Out Now For The Verizon Motorola XOOM 3G
I believe this shows that the supposed FACTS that a certain member has posted on here have repeatedly been shown to be wrong.
Evan....is that you? It's not going to happen. Let's move on...
We do not care to verify, this introduces extra issues we don't care to be held responsible for, etc. Our stance, currently, is believe 'em or don't - and let the community debunk them over time (or them debunk themselves) as they simply prove inaccurate or incorrect in what they say.

So, here is the official word from htc on gingerbread for the incredible. as of today 8/9/2011. Does this discredit anyone? I for one will not buy another HTC as it seems they have some poor programmers.
"Dear xxxxxx,
Thank you for taking the time to contact HTC in regards to Operating System upgrades to your Droid Incredible, xxxxxx.
Our goal is to give every customer the best possible experience on every phone. Every HTC phone is a combination of a unique HTC hardware and software experience and a core operating system. We only update our phones if it will provide an overall improved user experience as we balance features, performance and usability. Because of this, we will only be updating certain phones to Gingerbread. At this time, the Droid Incredible is not on that list.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause xxxxxx, and we hope that this does not detract from your enjoyment and use of the HTC Incredible. We deeply regret any dissatisfaction this issue may have caused. As always, we are here to answer any technical questions or concerns you have from 6am to 1am EDST, 7 days a week, or by phone at 1-866-449-8358. Wait, first they said it was getting 2.3 now they retract that statement? WTF?
This is just nuts of who to believe or ban!
I believe the link in the email is not for HTC north America. Making this email look like an editted email about a different (Eupropean?) phone.

not edited at all besides editing out my name with xxxxxx. and I do live in north America.

I'm assuming you're Canadian (us TRUE Americans never mention "North America"). That link is to the Canadian support page. HTC doesn't sell the Incredible in the great white north. I'm assuming whoever "wrote" the letter didn't realize that the Incredible won't be on THEIR list, since it's not Canadian.
nope, American born and raised..... I live in the Pacific Northwest. the reason I called it north America was that was how they referred to it in a previous post.
