Every single Verizon Wireless employee I know is at work today. A friend of mine worked for Verizon Residential several years ago when they went on strike, and the wireless employees were not effected then either. I don't believe VZW employees are union members, and if they are its a different union from the Residential employees. Sometimes Wireless and Residential may as well be different companies. From what I understand, this is one of those times.

Also, based on this I currently have absolutely no doubt in my mind that Evan in completely full of BS.

Just my two cents on current events.

PS. Sadly I don't know any of the VZW employees well enough to try and pry update news from them. I'm pretty sure they wouldn't know anyway.

Correcting false statements is perfectly fine, calling people names and attacking other users is NOT GOING TO BE TOLERATED. Period. End of discussion. You don't like the way something has been handled? Feel free to PM the administrator Phases.

I have noticed that lots of people posting to this thread have given up on the official upgrade and have taken to rooting their phone.

If I were to follow the same path would I be able to fix the out of space issue with a rooted phone?

To be honest that is my main concern at this point and it does not look like the official upgrade will do anything for me in that department. :(

So, here is the official word from htc on gingerbread for the incredible. as of today 8/9/2011. Does this discredit anyone? I for one will not buy another HTC as it seems they have some poor programmers.

"Dear xxxxxx,

Thank you for taking the time to contact HTC in regards to Operating System upgrades to your Droid Incredible, xxxxxx.

Our goal is to give every customer the best possible experience on every phone. Every HTC phone is a combination of a unique HTC hardware and software experience and a core operating system. We only update our phones if it will provide an overall improved user experience as we balance features, performance and usability. Because of this, we will only be updating certain phones to Gingerbread. At this time, the Droid Incredible is not on that list.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause xxxxxx, and we hope that this does not detract from your enjoyment and use of the HTC Incredible. We deeply regret any dissatisfaction this issue may have caused. As always, we are here to answer any technical questions or concerns you have from 6am to 1am EDST, 7 days a week, or by phone at 1-866-449-8358. You may also visit us at HTC Mobile Phones - Product Support - Smartphones Help for further assistance, user manuals, and helpful tips.

I believe the link in the email is not for HTC north America. Making this email look like an editted email about a different (Eupropean?) phone.

Ah, I see.... Good point!;)

Moving on!

I'd gladly pay you Tuesday for some Gingerbread....

Must be those nasty solar winds, or someone in Verizon breaking wind.. Or the Dingo someone is smelling up the forums with hope of a release.

You'd think they would have put the PDF up on the VZW site by now if we were to see it yesterday. Come on Verizon, have some balls and put the damn PDF up for Gods sake!

I know I know.... time to root. Problem is my phone is a company phone, but not that they lock it down or monitor it. Just need a rock solid reliable phone for what I do or else...

Gee, maybe by the time the new Iphone 5 is released, THEN we'll see Gingerbread:p

not edited at all besides editing out my name with xxxxxx. and I do live in north America.

I'm assuming you're Canadian (us TRUE Americans never mention "North America"). That link is to the Canadian support page. HTC doesn't sell the Incredible in the great white north. I'm assuming whoever "wrote" the letter didn't realize that the Incredible won't be on THEIR list, since it's not Canadian.

nope, American born and raised..... I live in the Pacific Northwest. the reason I called it north America was that was how they referred to it in a previous post.

HTC said they would have news about it "soon". That was a response to someone on the Facebook page earlier today. I feel like if we all demand the update we will get it just like the Desire users.

The Pacific Northwest might as well be Canada. Just kidding.

Anyways, the link they sent you was for HTC's Canadian support page. So I think it's far more likely you accidentally got in touch with the Canadian customer support, and they didn't realize you were talking about the US Incredible.

I hope that's the case..... I want the official gingerbread update to come out. However with the problems they are having with the kernel on the evo.... I am hoping they open source the one for the incredible right away. I couldn't find the post about news soon on facebook, so I posted on a HTC facebook site asking.

Somehow you ended up getting a reply from HTC Canada which does not sell or support incredible. Since HTC had a previous.leaked version for the incredible, isn't the "if " question answered already?
