If it works like the 2.2 stock i did today, then you move it to root of sd card, and then yes. Same procedure i believe. and yes everything not on your card will be wiped clean. At least mine was.
0.92 is the version. I've followed all the steps but it still keeps crashing .. specifically after I manually install all apps from titanium. What a headache!
Well, it counted and Verizon denies that the data is downloaded in advance...It is going to be fun getting this one sorted out

Yesterday I received the GB update and decided to wait until tonight to let it install, I click on menu, about phone, check for update. It's not there.
What do I do now to get the update again.
I did the same. It was bugging me every time I used the phone. Then about 5 pm there was nothing. Haven't seen it since.

I did try to manually do the update but after following all directions and suggestions here it still keeps crapping out. Plus after trying the update several times it did some weird things to my phone. One of the stock ringtones, freeze, is now a different tone unless there was a freeze 1 and 2. Also my downloaded ringtones were missing and I had to reload them.
So, I must wait for the official OTA and hope it doesn't crap out for the same reasons the manual update did.

I just went through it and it appears to work.
Depends, it your "just" rooted and not running a custom rom there is a "ota" over on XDA that will update you without loosing root.
If your running a custom rom, most DEV's are in the process or already have updated their roms...
If you want try a "sense 2.1/3.0" Rom Nil's and kingdomsense? both have ROMS out. (note: the OTA GB update does not update sense in any noticeable way anyway).
9:30AM and still nothing ... same as the last upgrade. VZW should allow people to sign up to be first on the list. That number would be very low (relative to the amount of DINC owners) but the impact to customer morale would be very positive.
Let's say they plan on rolling out the update to 10,000 people day 1. Put everyone who signed up into that first group. If there are more than 10,000 who signed up then roll them, in a first come first serve fashion, to day 2. Then roll out to everyone else. Not many people are losers, I mean passionate about their phone, like us and this small gesture would go a long way. You have to keep the passionate people happy...

I agree with you fully!
I waited over a week the last time and then just manually updated.
This time I cannot manually update it keeps crapping out.

I added a couple thoughts to that thread but haven't heard any feedback yet:
1.) If udpate.zip fails to be recognized on fat32 formatted sd card, try renaming file to PB31IMG instead.
2.) I think the update.zip can be loaded from within the stock recovery which IMO negates the need to format the SD card to fat32. To access stock recovery go to hboot, then use volume keys to highlight recovery, then press power button to select. Next hold volume UP while pressing the power button. This should bring up the list of stock recovery options, one of which is loading an update.zip.
If somebody tries this, let us know how it goes.

Not sure if you were referring to my post or another. If mine, no I'm not referencing Wildstang. His is a rooted version for root users. I've been talking about an update.zip that can be downloaded directly from the server and loaded by unrooted people who don't want to wait for the OTA.

I'm guessing the next time to expect the update will be Monday morning? Unless the push will continue through the weekend (hoping!)
I'm sorry, I'm at work and can't go searching right now. I know they had one over there but don't have time to look right now.
