Ok, I don't know how much help I'm going to be but to give it a shot...

How did you "activate" the phone on PagePlus? ( I checked the site but its pretty bare). did you go to thier store? how did they program it? did you port a number or did they give you one?

to be honest I really don't know enough to give you a good answer. My Guesses would be:
you won't get the update because you ESN isn't "really" on VZW
you "may" be able to use the XDA update OTA.

Your "safest" solution is probably to just ask PagePlus.

Yes, I activated with PagePlus. I tried their tech support and they didn't have a clue about upgrading the OS. I guess I could backup what I can and give it a shot. I really don't want to brick the phone. If I have to do a reset, will it go back to 2.2? I have many apps loaded and reinstalling them as well as setting the phone back to its current condition will be a huge hassle. My inclination is to hold off on GB unless it looks like disaster is a very low probability. Anyone else have experience with this?

Mine shows the same as yours. I also want to know if there is a file that doesn't have Sprint components?

Nope, that's what they released. The rooted stock roms at xda have fixes applied because they noticed the flaw unlike Verizon staff. So unless you are rooted, this is the best that is available. OTA = update.zip = Known build.prop flaws and Sprint stuff in the market. All the same until/unless they release a maintenance update.

Ya, I am rooted and flashed the ROM at XDA that has those things fixed and flahsed the Radio as well. Guess that seems to be the best way to go from reading all this so far.

If you didn't do anything to get it on page plus initially then you should be able to update fine without anything changing. And yes sometimes a factory reset is needed (and as long as you already updated it would stay on 2.3)

Once that happens (if) then yes you would need to re-load apps

So apparently the Gingerbread updates are rolling out. Am I the only one who hasn't received the update? I've checked for a update but everytime I do it says I am up to date but I'm only running 2.2. Have the updates been halted again and I didn't get the memo?

Just curious...

"Your system is currently up to date"

Please go to the gingerbread thread at top of page. It is still rolling out and many do not have it yet. Do not be surprised if it takes 12-14 days for last devises to be updated.

I downloaded the OTA this morning from Android Central. It was super easy. The phone is running great.

After playing around for a while I decided to charge the DINC. When the LED turned green I unplugged, waited 30-40 seconds (as per my usual), and plugged it back in assuming it would charge for a few more minutes. To my surprise, the light came back as green immediately. I tried it a few more times, with longer unplug intervals. Same thing.

Wondering if the GB update fixed the problem, and now allows the battery to fully charge.

Anyone else experience this?

yes I did notice the same thing. My battery has been sorta jumping around since the update. The first day I got 3 hours out of it at one point. Today has been better. I have had my phone for over a year, so i've been thinking it's time for a new battery.

Since I charged full, which was around 11 AM or so, I have only lost 6%. Granted, I am at work and have only made a few calls/texts, but over a 5 hour span pre-GB I would be in the 80%'s easy. My phone is 1yr.

I am running Juice Defender set to automatic.

Just checked and I've got just over 14 hours on battery. It has just turned yellow so I will try to bump charge again and see what happens when I unplug and plug it back in

The calculator is a little different and it boots up faster. Copy and paste is different. And my auto correct is not the same. Batt a little better.

Going back to what someone said about it updating overnight and the lobsters being quiet:

If that's the problem, I'll *never* get it. My dog roams the house at night and she'll play with anything that moves or she'll eat it. She probably ate my gingerbread install when it crept into the house and froze when it saw her. ;)

My phone is rooted and running stock ROM. What are my options for keeping root? Should I install the OTA then root again? Or should I upgrade manually by downloading the 2.3 firmware? What is the easiest solution?

If you're rooted with s-off you'll be able to reflash superuser to regain root.

I was in the same situation as you and manually installed the update. I detailed it in a post here, if you cam search on my username it should be easy to find. It's in this thread and I don't post much.

Long story short - if you have cwm recovery you need to go back to stock recovery with a file from dougpiston.com, then flash the update, then reflash cwm or other recovery and apply the superuser app (also available on dougpiston.com)

Verify the md5 sum of the update. It has a radio file and a bad flash could mean big problems.

It took me a few hours together myself flashed and restored but i have been very pleased.

OK I waited until notification light turned green, turned phone off and then plugged it back in. Got the green light again. But wait, there's more to the story. I turned my phone back on and went to fastboot or whatever it is called. Turned it off and plugged phone back in, Got red notification light on again. It has been on for about 15 mins now and I suspect it will stay on for the usual 30 mins or so. I guess this is because fastboot does not actually turn the phone off. rather it puts it to sleep.

Hope I get the update soon. I moved all my apps back to phone until after I do the update & now I'm getting the stupid low data space warning all the time. Can't wait to get it so I can move them all back to the card and get rid if this stupid warning.

Well If the world ended tomorrow you wouldn't get it.

If Obama decided to take control of the airwaves and block anything that wasn't government propaganda that would do it.
