As far as I know it won't display any info when you're in bootloader mode. Mine didn't display anything.

Should i start my own thread for this? it seems there are more than just me and bond111 are having this issue, as member Shadyboi is having similar problems.

im sure it should display some sort of information related to the phone in the upper left infopane in rsdlite. the previous times ive used it it would display D2.37 in the bootloader field instaed of v0x00D237

Now for some reason I tried it again while I was downloading the dxgb_recovery_patch.zip, and it finally made it through, and my phone is back up. But it's on Android version 2.2.1, system version 2.3.340.MB810.verizon.en.us

So now at least my phone is back up, looks like a need to activate it and such.

Is it even worth my trouble to finish doing the GB leak? hahaha

lucky you, mind helping me out? what steps did you take?

Did the recovery patch work for anyone? It still does not work for me. It gets to the droid with the exclamation point but nothing after that. I need to pull the battery to get out of it.

PM me your email and I'll send it to you, that goes for anyone who needs it.

Sorry guys, I stepped out for a bit, just saw I had a bunch of new messages. I think I replied to everyone who messaged me. Also cleaned out my inbox which was full so if you tried to PM me try again.

Anyone know if the Droid-X Recovery is going to get updated? I don't use warez, but I don't want to buy the droid 2 recovery since I've already purchased the correct recovery for my phone model...

Also, do you need D2 recovery to upgrade to GB, or only to use recovery AFTER you've installed GB? For example, can you use DX recovery to install the dxgbrooted.zip to your phone, and simply be unable to flash other ROM's once the installation is complete, or do you need to use D2Bootstrap to install dxgbrooted.zip? Because if you can use Dx Bootstrap to install gbrooted, then I might just wait and see if he updates the main dxbootstrap app.

EDIT: From what I can tell, you use DX Recovery to upgrade to GBRooted. So my question is whether or not I NEED D2 recovery to use the phone on GBRooted, or if it's only necessary to do recovery-related tasks after upgrading (such as moving to another ROM, etc)?

honestly...these devs are what make things possible for you...you're going to experience something on your phone that normally would not be available to you...

P3 and Team Black Hat use their connections with Moto to get leaks of software/firmware that should not be available to you, and Koush makes things possible by creating bootstrap...

now, i understand not wanting to buy the software again since you already did, but for a few bucks, support these guys that work hard and do things that most of us could only dream of being able to do on our own...

It's really getting annoying that everyone is trying to find a free version of the $2.00 app that everyone needs to be able to run things smoothly for now. I mean, c'mon everybody, it's 2 freakin dollars!! And it goes to Koush. I'm sure we have all used the Droid X bootstrap enough to warrant 2 dollars extra to Koush. And not to mention other apps we use that he has written and has up for free. If it works and those 50 or so of us that need it for now buy it, thats an extra 100 bucks in Koush's wallet for now. I think he deserves it! Pony up and and get cookin with Gingerbread!!

The difference being that I have already paid $2 to be able to have an alternative bootstrap for my DROIDX, keyword DROIDX. If I owned a Droid 2, I would certainly have no qualms about purchasing the D2 bootstrapper, but since I do not own a D2, and Koush already has the code, I do feel entitled to a functional DroidX GB bootstrapper. I don't even agree with the whole "entitlement generation" but in this case, I'm going to have to go with "yes, I'm entitled".

And the links to the free downloads for D2boostrapper are currently not functioning, even if you manually edit the link since it's not formatted properly.

I'd rather pay $2 for another android app and encourage another developer, rather than give another $2 to Koush, since he's already made (between 10,000 and 50,000 downloads for DX bootstrapper, and between 5,000 and 10,000 for D2 bootstrapper, so taking the minimums there, and subtracting 30% for Google's share, and we get) over $21,000 for his efforts. I certainly feel he deserves what he makes (thus me buying the DX Bootstrapper rather than d/ling it for free) but I feel I've contributed enough...

I guess I'll just use DX Boostrapper to update to GBRooted, and then worry about the bootstrapper when the next ROM comes out. Hopefully there will be an update out by then in the market.
