Been using leedroid for a few weeks now and used my official htc desire car charger last night whilst driving and it didn't seem to be charging the phone so consequently kept shutting down alot - anyone experienced that?

also gingervillian - can you link facebook photos to contacts in messages? like in sense?

cus i kinda like seeing who i'm texting and is it a good fast stable rom?

You can do that on any android phone now, as the new facebook app allows contact linking (photos only though I think)

It's a great rom if you just want basic, fast gingerbread.

can you tell me more about it? do i need to update my phones radio?

cam/video cam all working?

and i need gps to work on it

does it have google apps?

I am running GV 0.9 on my SLCD Desire and it works perfectly... in fact it is much faster than stock froyo

I've not yet changed the kernel, but I might just to improve battery performance.

I went from Orange ROM to stock HTC to Leedroid and finally to GingerVillain without touching the radio or kernel, so there's no need to if you want to flash it and see what its like. Do a full wipe before and only restore your apps from titanium (not anything HTC or system).

Camera works, video records but not at 720 (never really noticed the difference myself...), GPS works too. So far not found anything that doesn't work.

If you are used to sense ROM's though I would suggest trying out an alternative launcher like launcherPro. This will give you a good idea of what you will be missing if you move from sense (HTC widgets, calender widget etc).

Once you get used to it (and ther are lots of alternative/replacement apps to use), then try a non-sense ROM.

Go into contacts (3rd tab in the phone dialer app), long press on the contact you want to link a FB profile to and select 'edit contact'. In the Edit view hit menu and select 'Join', then in the list that comes up search for the contact's FB profile and click it. Hit 'Done' and that should be it. You'll need to repeat this for each contact, though.

can someone help me?

just used the facebook app on my phone to have a look whats going on

and i've lost all my facebook contact photo links

and it won't let me add a facebook account again

help?

Try a reboot to see if it helps. If it doesn't, perhaps try uninstalling FB then reinstalling it from the Market and setting up your account again.

the facebook contact sync is bad though, it fills the phone with contacts that you dont want in there and you cannot hide them, some without numbers even though you chose the option to only sync contacts with numbers

EDIT i take that back, the newest facebook seems to work fine
older onces were bad

just tested it

I got around that by only linking those facebook contacts for whom I had a corresponding google contact (with number) and then taking off the option to display all facebook contacts.

Not quite sure. You know there was the 'Me' entry in the People app, but no similar option in the GV Contacts that I've seen. For now I get around it by storing my own details as a google contact with a pic I manually entered. Doesn't allow me to link to my FB profile, though.

i just want it so my sms's get rid of that grey square

You also have to ensure your number is set in call settings > additional settings > my phone number
