Root Gmail not sending emails???

I posted this on the mikmik so I thought I would post this here because maybe someone else has had this problem too...........
Im running newtoroots runnymed Beta2. Just noticed that my emails are not sending from my phone at all. I am using gmail. I am getting emails but it will not send them. I can send them from my PC, no problem........When I hit send from my phone it will say "sending...."

but thats it, it never will. How can I fix this?

I have also noticed that I can delete messages from my inbox and when it syncs later on the same messages show up again?

You need to check the port settings. Look at the Incoming and outgoing servers information through the email program and make sure they are correct. This is the only thing I can think of besides not having a good signal.

If your deleting messages from the phone and then it syncs and they come back that means that you have set up not to delete from server. This should be a setting also in your account servers. I believe its in the Incoming Server Settings.

I have had the prob of emails not leaving the phone a few different times. sometimes I can go into apps and clear the cache, sometimes I just end up deleting gmail and getting it from the market again before it will work.

I don't know how to tell gmail to let the phone actually delete stuff. i delete it on phone but when I look in gmail trash, while on pc, that stuff is all there waiting for me to take it to the dump...

I ended up clearing cache and deleting data from within managing apps. Then simply going back and opening gmail and letting it sync and it fixed my problem. Just like starting over, but I didnt have to delete the gmail app at all.

Just want to let you know what I did to correct this on my rooted Nexus One. I could not go into app manager to delete the cache because I moved the gMail app to the Phone's ROM. So, I when into Titanium Backup Pro, Clicked on the middle tab <Backup/Restore> I then scrolled down to gMail and clicked on it and deleted it. HOWEVER, be sure to make a Backup of it before deleting it (otherwise you may have to to a factory reset). Next reboot the phone and go ahead and connect to the internet. Launch Titanium Backup Pro and again click on the middle tab <Backup/Restore>. Look for gMail (the one you just deleted), it's not there where you expect it, IT IS ALL THE WAY DOWN ON THE BOTTOM OF THE LIST. Click on it and do a restore (I selected the second most recent) and restore the App ONLY, not App and Data. Then reboot.
Once reboot you make have to enter in your account information but I did not have to. I launched SETTINGS->Accounts and Sync and did a Sync. I then launched gMail and send an email with no problems. Good luck
