Help Gmail not synching properly

Has anyone run into the issue where you delete an email on the web version of Gmail, however it does not delete off the phone until you open up the gmail app? It's very annoying as on my OG Droid, if I deleted all my new emails on the web, my phone would stop notifying me of a new email. I must be missing something....
 
Did you swipe away the notification or leave it in the notification bar? Trying to replicate now. I swiped away the notification, deleted mail from PC, and waiting to see if the notification comes back the the phone. So far it has not ~5 minutes
 
i get an email, it notifies my phone and my web browser on my computer. I delete it on my computer, but it does not clear the notification on the phone. I must open the Gmail app up for it to recognize I deleted them and remove the notification. The emails don't show up on my phone once I opened the app.
 
Hm, I just tested it out, and it cleared the notification (and the notification light from light flow) on my phone after I deleted the email in Gmail, I didn't have to remove the notification manually. It did take a few minutes to remove it though, it didn't happen immediately after the deletion on my computer.
 
Totally stock. How long are you waiting? Sometimes it happens almost right away (it just did with an email I deleted about a minute ago) and sometimes it takes maybe 3-4 minutes before the notification goes away.
 
Go into settings, apps. Find Gmail and hit clear data. Restart the program. It'll sync your mail back up. You should be fine after that... pay help forward. ;)
 
Clb - it'll last for hours if I let it.

Steven - I should have remembered that trick from my OG Droid days! Thanks for the suggestion! I'm going to try it out now!
 
Steven - I cleared my data, however the same issue is happening. I deleted an email about 20 mins ago online and it hasn't cleared my phone. I still see it notifying me of an email.
 
I've had Androids since the original Droid and Gmail always updates almost instantly from PC to phone. Now, I'll check email on one and the other still shows new email for hours afterwards, only syncing when I open the Gmail app or refresh the PC Gmail.

Something changed recently, for the much worse! Any idea how to solve this?
 
Try going into accounts & sync and UNsyncing gmail, then resync gmail. See if that helps.

Me too. Something definitely changed in the past couple of months.
