no not really... they are pretty much all zips. you don't really need a computer tho.

You can install these launchers, all of them. I think I had (at one point) six or so launchers installed. (Sense, adw, LP, go, 7 launcher, and another i'm forgetting...)
Not sure about themes, never been something I've used. But I know on MIUI, you can download and apply the themes right from the built in app.
Damn, that's the second time tonight I was not fast enough...
you will get a pop up that will ask you which action you want to perform. if you want that window to stop popping up then select one and check off to be the default setting. you can go to the theming section on xda and flash most mods that are out there. i prefer launcher pro. check out what granite has done:http://androidforums.com/evo-4g-all-things-root/322488-super-mario-bros-theme.html

If you dl a launcher specific theme it just needs installed not flashed. Also aosp roms usually have theme chooser from tmob and it also just installs no flash. Hell you can edit the pngs and just push...so in short, there are plenty of themes out there that don't need flashed. Just depends on what you are using....

I prefer LP, because it's really easy to customize and it's updated regularly. I also prefer the home screen animations LP offers. I've never had any lag problems with it, and it works with just about every rom out there.
