Good News for F6 USERS!!!!!

IF that meant it was for the MS500 as well maybe.

I noticed this earlier.
The MS500 page has changed as well.
LG Help: Product Support and Troubleshooting | LG USA

I've never viewed A date change like that on any of my LGs so I don't know if they are getting ready to push the OTA out. As far as my research has gone with news articles it was supposed to come out Q3 2014 which equals now.
Our phones should be stock to see the update, right?
Someone on stock may want to force check update: clear data/force stop of google services framework.

It's probably coming soon, given that the European version has official KitKat already, just a matter of getting it tested by TMobile & MetroPCS before allowing end users to get it. Anyone know from previous experience how long the delay is from Euro/global versions to the U.S. version?

Last time I had an L9 that was getting jelly bean and I'm not sure the time difference between the European one being released and the us one, but I do know that even after they realeased the update here it still took a week or so for people to actually get it.

Ugh, getting frustrated waiting for it.

I'm already running the CM11 port, but I have a few features I'd like to use, like my camera.

Can't wait for a kitkat rom to be released in US. Then CM11 can have full features

Yeah it usually takes about 3 months for usa to get it after euro. KK is rumored for usa by end of 3rd quarter which means by the end of september.

There was a leaked list of phones due for update and from what it looks like a good portion of the phones on the list have received the update.

I still treat all this as just rumors and speculation. We'll just have to wait and see.

My F6 has been running on KK 4.4 for a fortnight (LG automatic upgrade in France/ Europe ) and i can t say i'm satisfied. Everything got slower, specially going back from an app to menu, starting messaging and so on. I liked this phone as it was quite quick and it isn t anymore. And no difference anymore on task bar for data reception between 3G, 3G+... i have to use an app to check in my country house if i m at a quick spot (it varies a lot in that place). I'd like to ask for a downgrade but LG hotline seems quite busy at this time.

Here's a little blurb of my chat with LG Support today:

Germaine: this ph doesn't have any update available
Me: when will it be available?
Germaine: no information yet about that
Me: Then why does your website falsely advertises it? Title LG OPTIMUS F6 D500 SOFTWARE UPDATE Content Operation Product type Mobile > Cell Phones Date 08/20/2014
Me: What does that mean exactly?
Germaine: you find that information on the LG Website ?
Me: yes
Germaine: I would like to please place you on a brief hold while I research that for you, will that be alright?
Me: ok
Germaine: the information that i find , and thanks you to make me look for it
Germaine: T-Mobile is pleased to provide a new, free software update for your Android Smartphone. This software update includes important software improvements.
Germaine: This will be a timed release, so all users will not get the update immediately.
Me: Any ETA on this?
Germaine: no
Germaine: is OTA
Germaine: Over the air
Me: lol, I mean estimated arrival date?
Germaine: :)
Germaine: no will depend of your service provider network

Dumb question:
I have a TMobile branded F6, unlocked on H2O - IF there is an update to KK, will I still get the update OTA or would I need to manually install it?

Thanks,

Sounds like LG is going to continue jerking our chains until we give up or the phone is totally phased out.

Good ole LG.. :)

yeah...i figured it out....it's just a matter of reading and goofing around till the happy medium is achieved.

i had CM11 on and all it took was one blackout and one bootloop session and i thought KK was worth another try.

so i have it set up with a kksd fix from the play store...acid audio with a walkman port and it's fast and loud..

probably only a matter of time before i attempt some other rom...

but, i get the feeling the CM set is getting tired.
