wheres the best place to get a phone for adding a line? all these deals are for new contracts, i just want a new line added.. i will sign a new contract.. any ideas
 
It's the lack of finding any definite black friday deals posted anywhere that concerns me. So, either there will be a late great deal, or nothing.

I would like to see the buy one get one free blackberry add. Because I read that the sale includes BlackBerry Curve, Samsung Epic, HTC Evo 4g with free activation and free shipping, but it is not a reliable rumor. So dis-crediting it would be fine.
 
This may only be good till midnight on the 25th, but I just ordered my evo from the walmart site with the deal for the $100 gift card. Since walmart uses letstalk.com to sell their mobile phones I searched for an online coupon and found one for $25 off.
So my new evo was $219 with a 2 year renewal, minus the $100 gift card, then minus the $25 ended up getting it for $94.
Not bad for an existing customer.

So it seems industry standard for deeper discounted EVO web deals to finance it with a $250-$300 ETF for smartphones for 181 days that goes back to the online EVO vendor (in addition to the $200 Sprint ETF effective for 24 months). So if you think you may want out of your contract in under 6 months it could cost you up to $500+applicable tax.

I may just pick one up in store at BestBuy for an extra $100 just not to be subject to that additional $250-$300 ETF. I will have to think about the probability that I'd keep it/Sprint at least 6months. A $100 BestBuy freedom fee may be worth it to me personally..

BTW, RadioShack has it for $150 today but my local store is sold out already.

Just a heads up on the additional ETFs..(feel free to correct my analysis)

JUST got them from radio shack on sunday for $200 a pop...
i SUPPOSE we could do the whole, return then re-buy thing...wonder if its worth the trouble.
 
I was in Best Buy yesterday getting an INC, but they were doing in-store EVO's for $99. They were price matching another BB store that was doing them, not sure if it was a Friday only deal or if it's until the weekend is out, but this was late Friday night they were still doing EVO's for $99.

One of the terms in our contract states that you may not use the new line of service to replace an existing line of service in your account. This means that the wireless number we assign to your device may not be transferred to another account or be replaced with an existing line you have for a minimum period of 181 days. If there is a specific number you would like to have activated on the phone we can port it from one carrier to another or we can upgrade it as long as it is fully eligible for an upgrade.
 
Best place to buy......Craigs list. I purchased two Evos one was 200 one was 250. People that just wanted to get away from sprint. Clean ESN.No contract hassle was even offered insurance from sprint when I added them too my account.

We have less than a year left on our contract w/ sprint and while I think we will stay with them something about the ball and chain of a contract that I do not like.

I have a question Wirefly, why does wirefly,cellulardeals.com, cellularchoices.net, and a1wireless.com all have the same address for customer service 10790 parkridge blv. suite 200 reston, Va. 20191 right now your evo sells to upgrading customers for $179 and all the other above mentioned sell there's for $149 but your the same company? is that right? thanks for any comments

Sprint is the only major carrier that requires a contract on devices they never even subsidized so if you are a new customer you may as well take their minimum subsidy (e.g. BestBuy) that carriers a $200 ETF with a 24 month contract or if you are sure you will stay with Sprint for at least 181 days where you are subject to an additional $250-$300 ETF (on top of the base Sprint $200 ETF) you could take those deeper discounts offered online where the EVO can now be found for <$100. Again feel free to correct my analysis.

UMMMMMMM...I think when you buy from BestBuy, RadioShack or any online company sprint does subsidize those companies. The company then gives you an instant rebate instead of a mail in like you would have to do with sprint. Then the company you bought from imposes there own ETF on top of sprints.....feel free to correct my analysis

Let's break down the hardware costs (post 30 day satisfaction guarantee):

Regular Unsubsidized Sprint Price: $449.99

However whether you acquire the device with a subsidy or not, devices on Sprint's network require a contract with a $200 ETF that is prorated $10/month starting 5 months in the 24 month contract.

BestBuy: $199.99 (*With new 2-year contract-no additional ETFs)

Amazon: $99.99 (*With new 2-year contract-additional $250 ETF if you opt out before 181 days, Wirefly & other online sites previously mentioned cite a $300 additional smartphone ETF if you opt out before 181 days)
