Root Good rom for Mom...

I'm jumping to the evo3d when it comes out and adding a line and transferring my evo to my mom to bring her up to the year 2011. She's 60 something, computer illiterate, confuses easily and needs something simple with good contrast that's stable and runs everything.

Any ideas what rom I should put on it when I give it to her?

I'll probably ditch sense and go with LP+ on it for her as it seems simpler to me. I'll probably also preconfigure it for her with a screen for frequently dialed numbers, one for useful apps, and another for FB and other social stuff. The more on the desktops for her the better I think as she'll get lost in the settings menus.

I'm open for ideas. If she has a bad experience in the first week she'll hate it for life...

Sounds like a good idea and you know your Mom best but why don't you set it up a few different ways and let her tell you which one is the easiest for her....That way it ensures her having a better first week w/ her new phone.

I'll definitely have to hold her hand so to speak... The only rom I've really liked since I got it was warm 2.2 so I've been mostly using that but I know it is too dark for her. I'll probably move towards a Fresh rom and see how it works. I just need something bright with contrast that everything works on that isn't too, well experimental.

I'd suggest a sense based rom for mom (rhyme not intended). I may root my wife's phone soon if she gets tired of the same old sense 1.0.

but honestly good luck lol my mom is 49 and wont use "new technology".

she uses a pink palm from att came out in like 07...
 
I would go with MikG 2.1. Keep it stock, and skin it to her liking. You can use the photo album lockscreen and have pics of her kids and grandkids scrolling through.
