I hope you aren't expecting a change in mindset over at 'Appleforums.com'! :o

A lot of Android fanboys will say that the reason they diss the iPhone is because Apple fanboys started the animosity by turning up their noses at anyone who wasn't drinking the iPhone koolaid. Is that true? Nah, you'll find fanboyism anywhere and everywhere you look. Any product on the market, good or bad, that has any type of following at all will develop a subgroup that we like to call 'fanboys'. Who only recognize the strengths in their product of choice, are blind to any low points that might be associated with it, and completely dismiss any competition immediately, on grounds that.... well that it isn't their beloved product.

So debating which camp started the altercation is like rehashing the 'chicken or the egg' argument all over again. It's pointless & boring. All I know is that I don't pay any attention to fanboys sitting on either side of the fence because arguing with them puts you in a no-win situation. You're never going to change their mind, and you'll probably look foolish for even trying as it's like bashing your head against a cement wall in an effort to relieve a headache.

However being the bright girl that you are, you had to know making a dismissive statement like, "I'm so over Android " would indeed raise the temperature in here. You know you were eliciting a certain response. And I'm confident that you are just as aware that saying any such thing over in the Apple forum would reap the exact same return. You do know that, right? So would I consider you a troll using the classic definition of the term? Certainly not. I just think you enjoy being provocative from time to time is all.

So if it's time for you to move on to the i4, I'm not mad at ya. Given your history of phone-whoring to date, I fully expect to see you back here on the first Honeycomb device to hit the shelves! Lol

There was no provocation meant by "i'm so over android"
I was merely expressing "carmen's opinion"

If i said, Android sucks then i can understand any type of "angry hate messages"

And I get being a fan of a certain product, that i get. But i never understand the fact that people feel insulted when you trash an item they like....and it's like you spit in the face of their child or punch their mom or something :) Like i said, i love this site because it always makes me laugh....
that and the hate towards manufacturers due to updates(all Samsung galaxy s owners haha)

Lol i expect certain behavior from boys my age(18) or younger, but not men 2-3 times my age haha

lol and yeah, i love tipb(apple forum)...but i love androidforums as well

So i'll say it again so people won't think i'm a hater(i can only imagine what is on my formspring website)

I LOVE ANDROID...I JUST LOVE WINDOWS PHONE 7 MORE....AND MAYBE THE IPHONE ONCE I GIVE IT A WEEK OR TWO OF USE :) BUT ANDROID IS MY FIRST LOVE!
 
I was an early adopter for the droid 1, got it in the first week because I was so sick of dropping important calls on AT+T iPhone. I was seduced back into the iphone on verizon, and got one on the day it came out.

Maybe it is not a fair comparison, as the droid 1 is not the flagship anymore, but I am here to tell you the iphone beats the droid 1 hands down in usability, elegance, usability, its easier to use, it just works.

For example, to answer a phone call on the droid, you had to slide that bar across. It was frequently stuck, and you had to flick several times while the phone rang. I missed many calls that way. No such issue on the iphone, it just works.

Taking movies on the droid...only horizontal (or was it only vertical), anyway, only one way. On iphone, works either way.

The responsiveness of the screen, the quality of the pics, the brightness and legibiity of the screen, but mostly the way that things work how you expect them to. Its a better experience.

I miss being able to drag and drop files into and out of the droid 1. The droid 1 also has a larger, if murkier, screen.

Finally. I left the iphone on, with wireless on, all day and all night without a charge, and with moderate usage. The battery was at like 80%. The droid 1 battery hasn't lasted through the day since the last x.2 update.

Like I say, this might not be a fair comparison since the droid I had was 1g, so take it for what it is worth.

I like the iPhone operating system but unless they fix one major flaw with it by the time the iPhone 5 gets here then I will stay android. I need the ability to upload a file to a website (other than a picture) from my phone. Basically, I need to be able to upload my paper to my online school using a browser and their "submit" button.

I will say this though, unless the android tablets get a lot more polished, I will be getting an iPad 2 and keeping an android phone. If android tablets get a lot more polished then I can probably go with an iPhone 5 and a android tablet. Either way I am trying to cut down on the size of the tools I carry with me. I love my m11x and I love my macbook pro, but I love a tablet a lot more, it is just that the first batch from apple and samsung didn't fully replace my laptop.

don't go messing with us Jersey folk. I'm quite glad to see that this thread has stayed so civilized. I've already gotten into heated arguments over iOS vs. Android on numerous occasion. I might have even made a guy come to tears when i literally ripped his obsession with Apple products apart.
As for the more specific iphone vs. Android, i don't think it'll ever end between the Phans and iFans. All I'm hoping is that OEMs do away with the underpowered and outdated phones being released alongside behemoths like the Atrix or LG Optimus Black. Also, hope they get rid of cheap build materials and bring out the real sexy phones to rival the great hardware that apple is putting out
 
I currently have both the iPhone 4 and Droid X... best of both worlds! There are definite good and bad points of each. The resolution on the iPhone 4 is insane! Even the tiniest words are legible and smooth, but... it's a 3.5" screen.
 
I have many friends tat have iphone 4. They are always coming to me when their battery dies and they cant pop in a fresh one. Iphone is a good phone, but droids have them beat. The bionic, when it comes out, will make all iphones obsolete. Just think. No user replaceable battery, cant root, no tether. Im a huge mac fan, but not the iphone.

Because while Android will lose some users, they'll be losing the users who didn't know how to navigate through the Android lanscape and wanted/needed something more simple to get around on. Therefore, our boards should clear up a bit from those who are just here to complain, or are so helpless that they can't do anything on their own.

We will now be able to just respond, "perhaps you should try out the iPhone"?
