i have tried in the past to wipe battery stats and i never really saw any difference. so this goes to show why it never really worked for me.

I wipe battery stats every time I flash a new ROM not for any performance boost just cause I'm going down the list (I draw the line at SDCARD )

I have only done it when putting in a new or different battery. Should I still do so or are they saying that also does not matter? I don't do it so much for battery life just to have it calibrated.

^+1 same here... i wipe on down the list, excluding sdcard... i've tried numerous things here and there for better longevity on my battery but haven't found a single thing that makes a "drastic" difference... i get what i get.... the end...

Uncanny timing for this post! I was about to post a question about battery draining apps because I'm trying out Battery Calibration. I suppose this post makes my calibrating and my question moot. lol

I still think I get more battery life after a fresh calibration. Placebo? Maybe, but I'll continue doing what I'm doing untill I see actual proof.


I don't mean to discount the expert, but I'm science-minded and I need data to back up any claim


(If nothing else, the app beeps exactly at the point where my charge reaches 100%, and thats probably the reason behind an increase in battery life)

Hmm.. I was under the impression that wiping battery stats just made the display more accurate...

hmm... never actually tried it

The stats may be a myth, but actually performing a deep power cycle will improve battery life. Just don't do it more than once or twice because this can actually damage the battery if done too often.
Remember it only needs to be done once, the battery stats have nothing to do with this process.
