Google I/O 2013

Hi all

What do you think we should be expecting at Google I/O this year? I'm so hyped up for it!! I have been looking for a new tablet, currently looking at the Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1, but as of now I'm just waiting to see what might happen at I/O, as there might be a crazy surprise.

EDIT:

Let's talk about Google I/O during the Live event, and after the event to recap in what Google has shown us!!

I've heard rumors of a revamped N7 with a lower pricepoint.

An even lower price point than $199? OMG. I love my current Nexus 7, but am looking for a tablet that is better for note taking and productivity. Hopefully a amazing new Nexus 10 that is similar to the Note 10.1 is something I would be looking forward to.

I am interested in that, I miss my tablet :(

Me too:(

The rumor was either pricing it at around $149 with better guts and higher resolution screen and or pricing it the same as current N7's and dropping the price of them. It's all anyones guess at this point.

I just want to replace my smashed N7, oh, and get an Ouya.:D

I think $199 is just the perfect price for a tablet. I would love to see a better resolution, and a new design.

I don't think there's much wrong with the design. They just need to revamp the specs w/o using Tegra ever again. However, the rumor suggests same 7" design using QC's Snapdragon 600 SoC on a 1080p res display.

I am hoping for a new Nexus 10 model with HSPA+ connectivity to T-Mobile. I'll flip my current N10 and pick up a new model.

Looking forward to seeing a new nexus phone too, but I'm pretty happy with all my devices at the moment anyway so I'm good with whatever. I'm just interested in what they've got up their sleeve in general though.

What do you not like about the Tegra processors?

Google is always fill of surprises.

Piss poor I/O performance.

Oh well I haven't used any other out there so I don't know top much about the performance about other professors out there. Though I have heard the rumor about them not using the Tegra processors amd moving to the snapdragon processors. I honestly don't care what they use as long as my tablet is fast.

Well, I can say that the tabs should speed up quite a bit using Snapdragon SoC's over Tegra. At least if T3 and SD600 are the benchmarks to use.

As of right now, I have no idea. There hasn't been much talk about the Tegra 4 on the interwebs. I guess nobody is really all that impressed by it.

I guess we will learn more about the Nexus during I/O, because there seems to not be too many leaks about the Nexus. Other than the processor, and resolution.

That's just for the Nexus 7.

Oh, we will learn a lot more than the Nexus 7, also about Glass, and Android!! Hopefully much much more. I'll be watching I/O live on Youtube. Mostly about the Android section for the Nexus. Hopefully the Glass and Android/Nexus will not be at the same time. Hope they have them on different days.

I was referring to your comment that I quoted. That was only pertaining to the Nexus 7 (increased resolution + new chipset).

IF YOU GUYS GET GOOGLE GLASS for attending I/O i'm literally gonna die, I think. gahhhh

Also I heard they're unveiling Motorola's X phone there or something running Key Lime Pie, as well as their Chromebook Pixel. (source: Google I/O Developer Conference)

I hope they announce something about the rumored Moto X device. However, the device is said to be delayed. I'm not sure if that will impact Google's potential announcement for it.

I doubt they will. Google I/O cost $900 to get in, and Google is selling Glass for $1,500. Highly unlikely, but possible they could sell them at a discount price for people who attend.

But these are explorer devices... The thinking is that production devices will be cheaper.

But I don't think it's ready for distribution like that...
