Help Google Wallet secure element

I don't want to lose Google Wallet due to the Secure Element not responding error but.....

I was on on AOKP M5, made a nandroid backup and flashed AOKP 37. I forgot to reset Google Wallet before I updated the rom. So I thought I would restore the backup I made for AOKP M5 and reset Wallet and then restore back to the AOKP 37 and enjoy life. Problem is when I restore I get an error that says "Error Restoring Data!" which I figured out is due to the backup being over 2gb and CWM not able to handle it. I have many backups but most of them are over 2gb. I have one that isn't but it's from AOKP 30. What can I do to prevent the Secure Element error?

If I restore to my AOKP 30 backup which I had previously reset the Google Wallet app on, would that be ok?

Can the Nandroid Browser app be any help? I downloaded it and poked around but wasn't sure what I would need to do.

Any other thing I can do to preserve my Secure Element? I restored the just the app not the data with Titanium Backup but have not opened it yet.

Thanks

Did you reset Google Wallet (in the app settings) before wiping and flashing? I wouldn't use Titanium on Google Wallet, just redownload from the market and sign in.

no I didn't.

I didn't know if anyone else ran into this so I was asking how to resolve this without getting the Secure Element error. I have an older nandroid backup that when I was on that rom version I had reset the google wallet app before I updated to a newer version of the rom. Anyone know if it would be alright to restore that nandroid and reset google wallet in that backup. Then restore my current backup and setup google wallet. would I then be alright?

I just called Google about this very issue, and was assured that the secure element will NOT brick as long as you "Reset Google Wallet" within the app BEFORE wiping the phone. I don't know about getting it back via TiBU, though...

Now: does anyone here know if the Google Wallet Market trick still works to get it back on a Verizon Nexus? That's the one piece of information I need to know before I unlock/root/ROM... I needs my Google Wallet! TIA :)

If you used the market trick in the past to get Google wallet on the phone, and the app is listed under "all" section in the market, then yes it should. When I installed my first rom, it auto installed when I signed into my Google account during the setup phase.

I can't find Google Wallet in my "All" apps list. In fact, it's not been updated since I installed it. I figure if it ain't broke don't fix it. However, I do find it curious that some Gnexers can find it in the Market and others of us can't.

I had the same problem, I ended up having to use the same method I originally installed it, to update it. But now that I did that, mine shows up in my "All" list again, and it automatically updates.

I just did that too. It updated but it's still not in my list. Maybe I should have uninstalled the old version, re-installed using that method and it would show up.

The only other thing to worry about is when changing roms and if you're using a citi mastercard instead of the pre-paid card, there's a chance that it won't let you re-authorize it without a call to citibank to clear the old device from the card's history. I haven't had it happen personally, but I have seen it posted by other people and google does note this on the google wallet website.

I'm rooted and on BAMF and mine does not update. Evidently because its listed as a system app and isn't viewed as a market app. So although it shows up under "All", it won't update via the market. Which is fine with me, just pointing it out in case certain other root users are scratching their heads right now wondering why they aren't getting updates.
