Gorilla glass on the Droid X ???

I never was successful finding a matte screen overlay for my Droid, and I'm assuming I'll have the same luck with the Droid X- but in case there's something out there, has anyone found a matte protector for the Droid X screen? While it dulls the screen a bit, it doesn't show smudges nearly as much as a glossy overlay.

PhantomSkinz sells a matte full body kit, which I assume would include a matte screen. Use coupon code summersale2010 for 30% off.

today i recieved my Skinomi full body skin. After making sure the screen was completely clean and clear, i noticed a very small light scratch on my droid x's screen... :(

anyone who plans on not using at least a screen protector because they think the gorilla glass in unscratchable should think twice.

i have tried my best to be as careful as possible while my screen was unprotected, havent dropped it or anything, but little particles between your finger and the screen can still scratch it. PLEASE learn from my mistake...

Gorilla glass or not, the glass can be scratched. Best way to protect it is get a screen protector

You would be insane not to put some kind of screen protector on your Droid, Gorilla Glass or not. I find that the stock ones from Verizon hold up pretty well.

And again, plus me. Screen protectors are probably good for those of us that put phones in the pockets, buy I always wear mine on the hip and never had a problem on Droid and don't expect any with my X. Screen protectors feel like that take away from the touch experience imo. Plus they get that dirty outline around the edges...

As far as scratching.. i can't say- but as far as the gorilla glass helping against shattering.. ABSOLUTELY! i was running on a tredmill and the phone fell on the belt when i was running 8 mph, the phone flew off the tredmill and slammed the wall-- i thought for sure the screen was done for but when i picked it up it was as good as new! Gorilla glass is a CHAMP!

really only other silica based materials can scratch gorilla glass easily, so leave it home when you go to the beach

Seriously screen protectors are so cheap why not buy one?

Also I buy the cheap 1$ protectors on ebay and they work fantastic. I have had one on for about 3 months and it has a couple tiny little scratches nothing major, will prob change it again soon. I think the cheap protectors are super thin, thus they have really good clarity, you can't even tell its on there.

I also noticed my finger slides across the screen much better with a protector as opposed to straight glass.

Insane? Lmao, I take it this guy was taking a college course in 'How to be Mellow-Dramatic'... by God I think you've got the hang of it brother. A+ on this assignment. There's some speculation as to whether or not Jared Lee Loughner will get the death penalty. Well CNN has just learned that they've found Jareds cell phone. And much to the prosecutions dismay... he didn't have a screen protector on it.

****. Looks like that sick bastard will get spared a trip to the electric chair. He has an air-tight insanity defense. Damn it man!!!

I'm sorry, I guess I just don't possess that gene that gives me the audacity to shove my opinions down other peoples throats like that. I ripped my Skinomi screen protector right off of my DX the second I discovered it was made outa Gorilla Glass. Not because I consider anyone who covers a Gorilla Glass screen with a piece of plastic a lunatic.... I'm just comfortable with my ability to use it without one.

If by chance it does get scratched, I'll live.

I have a big scratch on my phone that looks like a V. I think some girl stepped on it with her heel. So yes, its definitely very scratchable.

Been naked since the launch date of the Droid X, no problems here.
I had the Verizon brand on my Eris, and used Zagg on my LG Dare before that.
Naked just feels better! Really! Especially when scrolling.

I use anti fingerprint.absolutely line it.

So do I Steven - the Steinheil Antifingerprint version. I have them on all three of my phones, and they are exactly as advertised, and work like a charm. Every couple of days, you just wipe them off with a clean, damp paper towel, dry them off and you're good to go.

Ok, bottom line!

If you want a screen protector....PUT ONE ON.. If you don't... DON'T!
My god, telling people their insane if they don't or bitchin at someone who does recommend one.. jeeezz..

And to applemac. News flash, a Zagg (or any other) screen protector for that matter would have done nothing to prevent that shatter. Hold it all together AFTER it shattered maybe.

Me? i wrap my phone. It's like a condom or a gun. I'd rather HAVE it and NOT need it. Than NEED it and NOT have it.

i had a standard verizon one on for awhile but i didnt like the way it made the screen look, made it all blurry it seemed. are other screen protectors better?

It is pretty much a matter of preference. I never used one on my OG Droid. I just started using one on my DX. I ordered the Otterbox Commuter case and it came with one, so I said what the hell. It does not take away from the screen sensitivity and I would rather be safe than sorry. Plus I like my phones in pristine condition.

I've had a Droid X since launch and have never used a screen protector or case. I've dropped it a few times, sometimes from 5 feet onto tile. There are no scratches or dents or blemishes on the screen or the exterior of the phone. I could sell it today as "like new" if I wanted.
