Accessories Got an HTC 1500mah battery today.

i was wondering, with the 1500mah battery for the tp2, do you still need to unplug and replug the phone(while its off) for the battery to fully charge?

Yes, you will. It's not an issue with the battery, it's an issue with the way the phone was designed -- hopefully a software one that can be fixed in future updates.

Bottom line: No matter the battery the phone will not charge it to full capacity with out the "rain dance" as we like to call it here.

Hope that helps,

I just got the battery and I'm on my fourth charge. Haven't really seen an improvement in battery life. I only got it after I heard the extended one was delayed. Cost only $15 so no big loss.

There is a slight gap where everyone says there is. Over the course of 2 days, the gap got smaller. Hopefully it completely goes away. No biggie though, right now you can only see it if you look for it.

The only good thing about the TP2 battery is that it added a little bit more weight to the phone. It makes the phone feel more solid, which I like.

again, i'm just not seeing it. i don't get any better battery life when i do this vs. just leaving it on the charger until battery indicator says the battery is fully charged (which IS AFTER the green light comes on, btw)...it will get a full charge if you leave it turned on, but it'll take longer than just waiting til the green light comes on.

I got it, and after a twelve hour plus day, I am still at 80%. I would not have believed it. There has to be something wrong with the standard battery.

Just wanted to update you all who aren't on the '"other" TP2 battery thread. This battery has been performing VERY well for me. I'm seeing an estimated 20-30% more uptime off the charger with this battery (that's not any sort of scientific measurement, just a comparison between a normal day with the stock OEM and a normal day with this one).

Example, my current uptime off the charger is over 17 hours, and I'm still at 83% charge. Not too shabby...

So did you have any fitting issues with your new battery? I'm thinking of pulling the trigger on this one because of the $16 price tag. Then planning on getting the 2150 once available.

Yeah, it's a little thicker than the OEM. As some other posters have said, there are *slight* gaps to be found at the bottom of the back case, but it's BARELY noticeable, I mean unless you're looking for them you don't notice it. That and it adds a little heft are the only real downsides.

I'm really happy with the performance of the batt, and it's nice knowing I've got the OEM as a backup.

Thanks. Pulled the trigger, so hopefully I get it this week. I'll keep everyone updated on my experience with the battery.

I guess I'll have to wait and see. Someone on the previous page bought the same one from that seller and seemed satisfied, but I'll be sure to post on here if it turns out to be crap.
The battery that I bought on ebay did come in, and it's been working really well. It is slightly larger in size than the 1300mah, but the cover still fits nicely. Though I can't imagine that a battery of a larger capacity will be able to fit with the stock cover. So far I have noticed a difference in overall battery life and considering the <$15 price tag (shipped) for a brand new OEM battery, this was definitely worth it.

I just got my TP2 battery on Saturday and charged it up. I'm starting to think I have a defective stock battery because I am getting MUCH better battery life with the TP2. I work in several buildings and one has no service (gov't facility that blocks signal). I spend a good part of the day there and keep my phone in Airplane mode while there. With the stock battery, I would see some drain there throughout the whole day. With the TP2, it was still showing full when I left. Did some texting, checking mail and web for about an hour or so and was still 85%. This is just with one charge, so haven't even cycled through a few charges. But already it kills the stock battery.

Fit is tight and I have an ever-so-slight gap. Only able to see it if you are looking for it. I have the silicone case so it makes no difference at all to me. The performance difference is amazing. But like I said, I'm starting to think I have a defective stock battery. Going to go over to VZ and see if I can swap it, but am in no rush. May have to order another TP2. For the price, it can't be beat.

On day 4 of my TP2 battery and definitely seeing an increase in battery life. It's not life changing but for 18 bucks with shipping it's well worth it. It does add a bit of weight which I think most people will like and there is the tiniest of gap but nothing I worry about even without a case. Case is on order though.

As an example, with 6 hours of sleep (for me, I should get more) and normal day where I don't sit at desk kind of job it's still about 40% or so with 17 hours since my last charge.

I bought mine from the cell depot but I am suspecting that it's used. IT came kind of beat up looking, I'm getting less life than my genuine TP2 battery from my old phone, and they ignore my email asking whether or not it is new or used. Also notice they never mention that it is new on the site....
