Accessories Got an HTC 1500mah battery today.

Wanted to update people, my battery's been working pretty well. It might be because I actually did a full charge before I used it or I have different habits now, but it seems significantly better. I don't think I've seen it go into a yellow low battery warning yet.

I got a 1500 from Cell Depot and it is definitely used! There were signs of wear on the outside and the contacts. That said, it does appear to last longer than my stock battery. maybe it's only slightly used (like from a 30 day return.)

I got my OEM TP2 battery off eBay for $12.99 shipped.

NEW OEM BATTERY HTC HERO IMAGIO SNAP TOUCH PRO2 TILT2 - eBay (item 160423911573 end time May-14-10 17:06:13 PDT)

I'm seeing a good increase in battery life, though my battery life was pretty OK before as well.

I should also point out that all of this "power cycling" stuff has little to do with ACTUAL battery life and everything to do with CALIBRATING the chip inside the battery so that it can accurately display/predict its charge level. Lithium Ion batteries DO NOT HAVE MEMORY.

If you don't do the power cycle, your real battery life will not be affected, but your battery indicator will take longer to give you an accurate reading (so you may THINK you are running very low on battery when you are not that low). I'm actually curious as to how many people who are complaining of bad battery life have actually had the phone die, or if they are just complaining about the percentage the software is telling them. It would be an interesting experiment.

I actually experimented with that after a disappointing first day. I ran the battery down and got to the 14% plug in note (why I always get that at 14% I don't know) and discovered that the phone lasted almost 3 hours of web surfing and whatnot while I was watching TV before it died. After doing that 'run it til it dies' cycle one more time, the phone seems to better predict battery charge and is lasting longer. I recommend doing it a couple times in a row to anyone who is having a disappointing battery experience.

Still, though, I'm going to get the 1500 mAH battery. More is always better when it comes to battery life. I live in Houston and the worst thing I ever went through was trying to find charges for my phone during the 2 powerless weeks after Hurricane Ike. LOL.

Don't know if anybody posted pics of gaps, but this is what mine looks like. It looks much worse in the pics because of the flash, but under normal lighting it is difficult to see the gaps. But they are there.

I was wondering if anybody would know.... if I remove the sticker covering the whole battery, and just leave the battery naked (as in the the metal walls of the battery showing only), would it be okay in the phone? It wouldn't heat up too much or anything would it?

If I take the sticker covering off, it makes the battery a little bit thinner.

well i doubt that sticker is doing anything very important.
but i dont know for sure either.

i dont have nearly as much of a gap on the sides as you do. my gap is only on the bottom edge. also it seems to be getting a little smaller over time (although that could just be me getting used to it.)

try pressing harder on the edges where it is gapping. mine takes quite a bit more force to close with the new battery than the oem one.

my gap is nowhere near like that. i see practically no gap when i snap my cover back on all the way. i use a silicon case, so the very small gap i do have is never visible anyway.

Can someone point in the right directions to where I can buy one of these batteries for my Inc? I want OEM (of course) and need a solid reputable seller who won't send me a used/refurb'ed battery or one DOA; where should I buy? Not interested in paying HTC retail prices either...looking for something under $15 ;)

Touch Pro2 RHOD160 Battery

HTC Part No. 35H00123-11M (must be 11M to be the 1500mAh battery)
1500 mAh, 3.7V

Thanks!

Been following a few of these HTC OEM 1500mAh battery threads and I just want to make sure I understand, can almost any HTC 1500mAh battery work in the Incredible? anything from the Tilt, TP2 and Cliq to the Eris, Imagio and Evo 4G? I just keep getting links to different Amazon and Ebay listings and it seems like the same battery just lists a different group of phones. And if so is one battery thinner than another so there won't be a gap? I guess I ask cause some people report having a gap and others don't.. there are also those that say after day it goes away. Thanks for any clarification! :)

As long as these #'s are there, it'll fit: RHOD160 / 35H00123-11M

Just ordered one. Have had my Inc for a month and as soon as I got it, I slapped the 1750mAh I had in my Eris, right into my Inc.

I was only averaging about 4hrs of 'awake' time, meaning I was only getting about 4hrs of actual use (also determined by the ~4hrs the display was on and using juice, unless I'm running stuff in background).

I decided to use the oem 1300mAh and averaged about the same, if not a little bit longer use.

Come to find out, the 1750 (from seidio) is a piece of crap!

I'm hoping to see much better results from the oem 1500.

I'll post 'awake' times and display usage times. 'Up' time is almost worthless info, unless you need to know how long the phone has been on with or without being used.

awesome! I still haven't bought my OEM 1500.. decided to just deal with the stock for a bit, at work all day with my charger so not really been a big issue if I have a heavy use day. Anyways, let us know the numbers, might motivate me to make the purchase. :D

I flashed the lastest KiNgxKernel last night after going back to the oem 1300mAh.

So far, since 4am, I'm at 75% with 1hr 30min of 'awake' time. Also, the display has been on for 1hr and 20min, which is how long I've actually interacted with the phone. One short call, quite a few texts, web-surfing, and some tweaking and showing-off.

At this rate I should get well over 5 hrs of usage. Was getting ~4 hrs with Seidio 1750mAh, which is now in the recyle box.

Now I can't wait for the 1500!!!

Update:

Was @ 50% with 2:30 awake time. Heavy web use. Now @ 15% with 3:30 awake time. Don't think I'm gonna hit 5 hrs...

i have the 1500 HTC bidallies battery and i get like 13-15 hrs up time and still have 30-40% left. i use my phone all day checking facebook and texting. some calls and whatever else. i leave GPS, wifi, and bluetooth off and keep my screen like 20% bright

Just bought the one off eBay from Bid Allies, first time I put the cover on it didn't close all the way :( had a hairline gap, put it on a second time while charging and it fits perfectly!

Doing the battery calibration now:
1. Charge up completely
2. Delete battery stats
3. Deplete
4. Charge again

Will post when I find out how well it works.

I love the battery life, but the battery cover just doesn't seem firm in that one spot on the right side. The guys at Verizon told me that it's normal.....but I think they were just BS'ing me.

Someone suggested putting a small folded piece of paper back there to make it feel more firm, but I haven't tried it yet.

Mine wasn't either for the first several days. Now a couple months later, I can't tell the difference between when the stock battery is in there and the HTC 1500 battery.
