Got It......It's fast....it's really REALLY fast...

Thanks for answering my questions 3rd.

Have you tried using the speaker phone? Meaning this phone has dual mics. One to cancel noise. If so I want to know how it sounds to someone you are talking to using the speaker phone.
Also is the screen glass?!

No clue if the screen is glass.....whatever it is, it wipes off grease and finger prints pretty easy.

I did talk in speaker phone but didn't ask the person on the other end how I sound yet. I'll do that and get back.

I've been lurking among the forums for a bit. And I appreciate there's someone sharing information on the Nexus One. Just want to give you my thanks.

As I'm waiting for my ride to get the party started, I just have one question left:
In terms of smudges and finger prints visibility, how does it compare to the iphone, does the screen have the same coating like the iphone?

I would also like to thank the contributors here for the info and to atreblatrebla (that french guy, for watching the thread and uploading the neocore video and the 10 min video)

Let's just clear this up so we can get back to the Nexus One. :D

It has a capitative screen, so it is glass. I have seen it, felt it, etc. Glass

A lot of reviews said that the ERIS has a plastic screen ... it doesn't.

Capacitative =/= glass. I have a G1, and it has a hard plastic screen.

"It is a tempered and laminated composite, laminated so it can make use of the capacitive screen. That's why it has that plastic feel to it. But it is glass hence pretty scratch resistant."

Man, nice work your doing 3rd-gear...
But please to settle this whole speed / performance thing, can you run this benchmark and post the results. It's the only way to do a fair comparison of performance against all the devices. Should be free and quick to download from market:

'Benchmark' by Softweg.

@ 3rd-geer:

I was wondering if you've had the chance to compare the sound quality of the Nexus One and the iPhone while using earphones. Which one is the better of the two?

Now taking donations....lol
I have no problem with this.
Post your paypal acct.
You have easily been the most informative resource on the web regarding hands-on use of the N1.
You've certainly earned $10 from me (and many others here) for answering our questions!

Come on people, cough up a few bucks.
At the very least, click/add to 3rd-Geer's reputation.

Rob Jackson, if you're following this thread, consider the new traffic he's brought to AF.

I did this test a few days ago back in this forum. It scored 28.8 FPS...but I know some folks are saying that the app may not be set to run properly on this phone yet. I can tell you...side by side with any phone I've run this against, it's the clear winner.

Sorry my fault, I should've indicated this is actual real apple to apples type benchmark app. It's much different to the one you did earlier as they were running different resolutions and couldn't take advantage of the hardware in this thang. This app will be much quicker and just test a few things and spit out a bunch of numbers not tied to anything but the hardware and os.
