Root Greener pastures

gonowhere

Android Enthusiast
Well guys, now its my time, I went and pre-ordered the One yesterday. I've held out for a long time and am ready for a new toy. I haven't been on much lately due to smooth sailing with Decks Reloaded doing what it does best. But, I want to thank Ocnbrze, Mikestony, Rxpert1 and all the numerous others who helped me along the way with rooting questions and anything else. This forum is my home and I look forward to what lies ahead for the One.

Thanks guys

Parting is such sweet sorrow...

This has been a great phone and a great forum! I hope you enjoy your new phone too though!

You should be seeing us around, you will still be here, cause you ain't going no where! :)

Congrats on the new purchase gonowhere! :)
I'm glad we all could help each other around here and continue to do so as others still rock this device!! It still kicks butt!
When are you expecting it?
I'll bet you've even done the research on how to root it :p

I hope you enjoy it!! Float back around these parts...many of us still call it home also:D

great phone!!!!!

i know that this particular forum is home to many members, but since being a guide and now a mod, i realize that there are many other sub forums within AF that are just as great. i have not been to the one forum lately, but i hope to see you there. and if not there then i hope to see you and others in the Android Lounge - Android Forums or in the The Lounge - Android Forums.

i still come here as i do call this my first home, so please stop by and visit and say ho from time to time, if anything else.

And now today Sprint is flipping the LTE switch in my area, right on time!!! I hope to have the phone by the end of next week and I have started researching what I need to do to flash.

I always thought I would keep the Evo as a media toy but, HTC is offering a buy back for $100 that I can't refuse. Couple that with the $50 Best Buy card I get from them and I'm looking at a $50 phone. :smokingsomb:

Great deal. It's about time they turned the switch on in our area. I've already moved on to T-mobile but I'm glad you'll be able to get LTE now.

Are you in Hampton Roads?

I was considering TMo last week but, I wanted a new phone and can't afford to buy one out right. I did the math between TMo and Sprint and found that I would only save a couple hundred bucks with TMo over the two year time span so I decided to continue to roll the dice with Sprint and hopefully their improved network.

Guess I'm cheap because I keep thinking about hanging on to my Evo a bit longer, but with deals like that I might have to look at something new.

The HTC deal was specific to purchasing the One, the BB deal was just having to purchase any phone during this year or part of the year, can't remember.

wow that's an awesome deal i bet they will get better. there has to be a reason they are targeting the og and trying to buy out the hangers on. 100 from htc sounds like free money to me i'm thinking they are doing the deal because of the radio wimaxx issue and they are trying to faze out all the left over users. I bet over the next few monthes those deals will get more aggressive.

but what do I know it is the end of April and phone sales usually lag this time of year so maybe its just a way for HTC to boost sales. Eitherway It is an awesome deal and if you want an evo heres a thought. 50 dollar gift cards to BB sell for about 48$ on ebay. which you could use to then buy an EVO used. you would still have the 100 dollars from HTC to offset the cost of the ONE.

but then again if you are playing with the ONE you wont want to mess with the slow processor in the evo and it'll end up in the drawer with all the other junk you thought you were going to use one day. But hey what do I know. ;)

Either way enjoy your new phone but don't forget the OG threads because new users like me log on here for the first time every week asking for help with this or that and It cant be easy for mike and OCN to field all of the questions that come up. So please dont be a stranger.

I have a Evo 4G in great shape but their site only offered me 16 . I might be interested for 100 but I'll hang on to it for 16.

What?? $16?? I got a code when I pre-registered for the One at it guaranteed at least $100 for your old android or more if the value was deemed more.

Just went and got a $16 estimate too. Must have been a limited time offer, I got it two weeks ago.

Sounds like you got the quote at the right time.

I'll just keep my eyes open deals are everywhere :)

Yep, Va Beach. I live on the border of the Wimax coverage area. But, the 3G was just way too slow (50 kbps) for me. I use wifi as much as possible but when I was out on the town, I couldn't get anything decent if no wifi was available. (My EVO was flashed to Boost,[no 4g wimax] after 2 years on Sprint). TMobile's coverage here is just phenomenal and I'm only paying $30/month on prepaid.

List it on ebay they are going for over fifty on Fridays after everyone gets paid... Track the market there it isn't bad tbh.
