GS3 Case discussion thread

I went with the Otterbox Defender. I don't have the problem of it being too slippery like some others have had. The belt clip is a little clumsy but it goes well when I attach it to my purse. This case is not suitable if you have a 3rd party battery that requires a different backing.

I the "kickstand" also a belt clip? It's hard to tell in the pictures.

Thanks!

The holster has a belt clip that swivels.

Short answer is no.

Much better pictures of the Puregear Samsung Galaxy S3 Rubberized Hard Kickstand Case W/ Holster - Black here.

Thanks for the additional pics!

I had complaints about my Commuter case being slippery.

The kickstand is actually an issue for some....

I originally considered the Seidio kickstand model until I read the reviews, so I ended up ordering the blue combo without one for $33 shipped (although some have had holster issues [e.g. broken clips/catching on silicone top] with this model).

Seidio Active Combo Protector Case Cover for Samsung Galaxy S III S3 - Blue

In the end, I wanted something that didn't add a lot of bulk, offered 'reasonable' protection, looked attractive and could be easily holstered.

Not perfect, but giving it a shot.

For those keeping score, I am loving the Seidio Active Combo.......

My previous Incipio was very similar, but the color scheme of the Seidio works much better with my Pebble Blue S3. Just really looks sharp and gives better access to the S3 buttons.

BTW, if you have an Incipio Dual Pro, the Seidio holster would work fine with it.

The only downside.... The Seidio Active seems to be a bit more slippery than the Incipio Dual pro, although longer term I don't see this as an issue.

Yeah, the Kickstarter got their funding, very pumped to get this when they ship!

A lot of these cases, including this one (assuming you put credit cards in it), will prevent your NFC chip from working. No Google Wallet, no NFC tags, no s-beam. Not a big deal if you don't care about that, but you may want to take that into consideration.

I was wondering what your guys' thoughts are on the iskin aura? I really like the look of it but I'm a little concerned that it doesn't actually provide any protection (I'm a little worried about dropping the phone, less so about scratching the back plate).

Has anyone had any experience with this case? I saw a few posts about it but not much discussion.

Alternatively, can anyone recommend a similarly slim and stylish case with better impact protection? I realize cases like the otterbox and UAG are really strong but I don't like the look and bulkiness (I'm only concerned about protection to a certain extent).

Thanks!

Thanks for the heads up, I hadn't considered that. I haven't got into the NFC tags yet, but want to eventually. I more bummed that I'm going to miss my extended battery - gotten use to only recharging every couple days or so/ and-or not worrying about how much I use at any given time.

Anyoen else also using Acase Superleggera Pro (Policarbonate + Silicon) or the Boxwave Duosuite (TPU) Cases? I have them both and prefer the Acase case. It adds more bulk but it seems to offer more protection in case of a fall, but the boxwave does look better...
What do you guys think? Does the Boxwave TPU case offer enough protection when falling on the ground?

I got the white flip case but found it was a bit of a problem when shooting video it gets in the way so I don't use a case any more or screen protectors

I have the Acase and I prefer the dual protection. I keep considering going back to TPU (I had it for my old phone and LOVED it) because of it's thinness and how cheap they are but I'm just afraid of getting a cracked screen. I'm not a clumsy person, but just in case, I'd rather have the dual protection. I've never broken any of my phones but this one's just too fancy to leave it to chance :p

I have the Otter box Defender for my SGHT999V. It does not feel slippery to me. Does feel a bit heavy but that's alright. The only downside is my case does not have a belt clip and a protective screen cover.

Can anyone recommend a case with protective screen cover(covers the whole screen . I am not just looking for a plastic film) and belt clip. I am looking for something like Seidio Obex waterproof case but a bit cheaper.

Thanks

I wanted to chime in here. I saw the below case here in this thread. I picked one up off of Amazon.com and it came today. I must say, this thing is pretty sweet. It's chunky but I didn't buy it for its size. I have an everyday case I use for that. It's not as thick as I thought it was going to be. It charges the phone quite quickly. It also adds protection to the screen as well as adding a kickstand. If you're heading off somewhere where you won't have an outlet this is a great case to have. I like the kickstand for watching movies, etc... For the price this is definitely a case to have!! Even if it's not your everyday case.

I'm also not clumsy but just in case I prefer the acase superleggera pro, it doesn't look bad also. What did you think of the boxwave duosuite case, would you buy it?

Like the spigen curved crystal screen protector? It's what I have and I believe it's the best out there

I wish more reviewers of cases and screen protectors would wait two weeks before posting reviews. Especially all the guys on YouTube. Opening a box and giving a review is a waste of my time.

The Seidio Obex looks like it has a lot of potential, and after it is released I want to see reviews based on day to day usability and comfort, scratch resistance, and durability. Not an un-boxing review. I find the majority of online reviews to be useless first impressions.

Can anyone direct me towards some quality reviewers?
