I finally got my
FreshFiber BookCase; I ordered on Sept 6 and it got here till yesterday (the 27th). They emailed me saying that they were very busy due to the release of the iPhone 5. :hmmmm2: I was kinda mad about this, but right after opening the package and putting the case on it all went away. It's a beautiful case! It looks way better than I expected. I expected the case to be more flexible, but instead it's a more hard shell material. It almost feels like that really strong cardboard material you use to make sculptures or models, but its definitely not cardboard, it feels very solid. I asked them about the material and they said its laser sintered nylon. Ok, so I put the case on and it looks great on the phone, it lives up to its name in that it does look like a bookcase from the back while still being able to have access to the screen. The sides are raised so it protects the screen if the phone's put face down. It has volume buttons and they're perfect, really easy to press and just work perfect. The on/off power doesn't have a button and its kinda hard to access it as its left in between the sides of the case. My fingers are too big to press it as I normally did when without the case or with my Speck CandyShell. I press it by sticking in my finger sideways, but I'm already getting used to it. The charging port has a nice size cutout, same with the earphone one.
This case did not fit with my Moshi iVisor screen protector because the sides are a little raised. The iVisor worked great with my Speck case though. I had to put on screen protector I got at Verizon. Since it's cut shorter, the sides dont lift up and it fits perfect with the case on. I can live with this screen protector for now, just cuz the case looks so good haha, but I do miss my iVisor
Protection wise, they claim that the material will take the shock and protect the phone but I just feel like if it falls hard, the case will break and my phone will bounce off but I don't know... Since it's not rubbery, the case slips very easily in and out of my pocket, but still has a nice grip when holding it.
FreshFiber gives you the option of personalizing the case by engraving your name onto it in 3D, which I was skeptic about, plus it was a little bit more expensive. As it is, this case cost $48.99 ( $39.99 + $9.00 shipping) so I didn't want to spend the extra money on the engraving. They do have their logo engraved the same way they do the personalized ones, and just basing it off on the 3D engraving of their logo, it looks super cool. So I can imagine any other thing you want to engrave will also look just as good.
