What happened to the 2gb that came with the phone? Lol
Got mine refurbished and it came with no card hehe. My old lg shine had a 1gb card though that worked
. Regardless i'm going to go pick up a 4 or 8gb card before this 7 year old sdcard dies unexpectedly

Just remember, with /data on the card, the faster the card (higher class) the faster the phone will be. I'm using a 16gb class 10, and its very snappy. My brother uses a 8gb class 6 (he is cheap). There is a noticeable difference between our phones. Not to say that his is unusable, but mine is a bit faster. So make sure you look into what class card you are buying. It does matter.

Speaking of that, now that kouma has released his partition tool, I've been thinking about adding or changing the guide to SSM. The only reason i never did in the first place was that I couldn't figure out ADB, and we would have to answer a hundred questions about "omg internul iz stil 200 megz rawr!?!?"

would be a good idea, i used it to get the extra for swap and worked great. adb was pretty easy too. just took me a couple of times to get the tool to work because had a hard time to get all the mounts unmounted. wouldn't work unless did that, thought just run tool and needed more then just that. but would be good and maybe easier.
make sure to get the entire procedure though so they don't have a problem like i did!

If you do so, please make it abundantly clear that SSM DOES NOT SHOW THE EXTRA STORAGE IN THE SETTINGS MENU. "df" in terminal is the easiest way to see the extra storage (maybe throw up.a screen shot of the way it looks when set up correctly?)

Install terminal emulator from market.

If it shows a listing for /data/app and /data/dalvik-cache, then your good.Code:dfAndroid can't see the extra space when you use ssm
I cant get my sd card partitioned. I have tried a bunch of times. Has anybody encountered this problem before. Im really stumped on this. I cant find any other threads on how I can resolve this. I have a 2 gig sd card that came with the phone. First I tried 1024M and my phone still says I have only 60MB of internal memory. I thought maybe I was being greedy so I tried 512M, didnt work, tried it 3 more times and i still cant get it to work. Any help on this subject would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. This is what comes up when I type df into the terminal.

I dont think ive messed with the settings at all,should I have? I am a real noob and probably shouldnt be doing these things to my phone. The main reason why I wanted to root my phone was because of internal memory issue's. But I am a real fast learner and everyone associated with this forum are so helpfull with this. Im looking into that link that you posted right above, I really hope it works, all I want is to not see that dreadful "low space" icon. Again thank you for your suggestions:smokingsomb:

Read chapter 3. You will not see any extra space if you do not follow the whole guide. And the link is for an APP that you install ON THE PHONE

I selected reboot from the menu, and now my phone is stuck at the Kouma Kernel 2.5 startup screen. Been there for 10 minutes - I realize it says it could take a while to boot up, but I'm guessing that's not what he meant.
What should I do / try? Thanks!

in cwm,
advanced> wipe dalvik
Then in mounts and storage> format sdext (still in cwm)
Then reboot... And wait at least 10 min before calling it a fail

Thank you LordVincent90. Thank you sooo much. I guess I must have over looked over that step in chapter 3. Im glad it was a simple fix. I bow to you. Thank you everyone who has made this possible.
Is any one experiencing problems while dialing or receiving calls? I follow the guide yesterday (excepted I didn't partition the sd card) and everything was working, but today I noticed that text messages where taking to long to arrive and I can't call or receive calls (the internet is still working).When I dial a number it remains in the "dialing" screen, but the call does not go through. I did the whole process a second time, but I still have the same problem. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I'm assuming that if you didn't partition the SD card, you also did NOT change the setings in koumamod (sorry, gotta say it)
Also gotta make sure you didn't restore any system data from titanium backup.You are suffering from a poor network signal. As I live in a crappy reception area, I frequently get the "dialing" lockup. I don't send many text messages, but I have seen it drop as well. Reception can vary wildly when you get far from the tower, with no obvious reason. Weather, walls, airplanes, bird poop, color of shirt, score of local sporting event, can all affect reception for some stupid reason. Try walking to another area, and try starting calls when the signal is strong. If you start a call in a crap signal, then move to a strong signal, the phone can still get stuck on dialing.
I've never had to do that after switching modes on initial boot and restarting.... I assumed if koumamod wasn't set to anything, nothing was loaded into SD-ext. But now that i think about it, blood did change koumamod to SSM initially for a while. I will add your info to the guide. Thanks vincent

I'm finally finished converting to SSM mode, but it was quite a pain in the ass. Heres what I ran into:
SDparter would go to slider screen but would not make partitions, said card was mounted even though it wasn't. I'm assuming I didn't unmount SD-ext, but I don't know how.
The only way I could find to move apps to system was through TB. I'd rather not have to add another program to the list of things to teach newbs to use. That's why I liked data mode along with the extra memory showing up in internal.
I tried to update koumamod to 1.7, but failed horribly. wouldn't install as a normal apk, wouldn't update the existing apk, tried deleting the old apk and moving to system/app but didn't work. Thats why I ended up reflashing CTmod.
I ended up having to do a full reflash, make the ext and swap partitions in CWM, then install and run TB, convert it to system, install SDparter and convert it to system, then unmount SD card and run SDparter to increase the partitions to full size. That seems way too complicated for this guide. I'll test for the rest of the week, and tinker more this weekend.

I have SPHM820_FE16_ROOTED_PHONE.tar and SPHM820_FE16_ROOTED_PDA.tar.
Were the instructions written when FA was the latest version and have not been updated for FE or do I have the wrong files? The files I have came from SPHM820_FE16_ROOT_CWM.zip at http://androidforums.com/galaxy-pre...ock-factory-updated-02-23-new-fa19-image.html.
(I'm guessing it's right - mostly because the link where I got the FE files has FA in the link - but just want to check.)
